Getting Around

Getting around Greece is easily arranged in advance.

Whether you are arriving my plane, ferry or are already on island we can help you get around Greece with the help of our dedicated team of drivers. We have a strong relationship with multiple drivers throughout the Ionian whom we have worked with for years – they are reliable, friendly and know our crews extremely well.

Contact Helen and remember to add your arrival and departure details to your pre-boarding questionnaire so we can make sure your arrival and departure are as smooth as the morning sea.

Once onboard you can also discuss your departure details with your crew who will be more than happy to help.

Airport and Ferry Arrival

We highly recommend arranging transfers with us in advance – particularly for your arrival – to ensure a smooth transition to your yacht. The airports and ferry terminals are exceptionally busy in summer and it can take a long time to find an unbooked taxi.

Upon arrival at the airport or ferry terminal, one of our drivers will meet you and transfer you to the marina to meet your crew and yacht. They will call your Captain directly en route to ensure they are waiting to greet you at the marina.

In case of any problems you will be able to find your drivers contact details on Vamoos and your driver will also have the ‘head charterers’ number so they will be able to contact you if necessary.

Hotel or Villa Arrival

Embarkation time for the yacht is 1700 so we always recommend requesting a late departure so you can enjoy your hotel facilities for an extra day. We will arrange your pick up from your ‘land location’ so that you arrive at the yacht in the perfect time to board.

We can also arrange your transport to the hotel from the airport or ferry but we always recommend that you check with your accommodation first just in case airport transfers are included…we don’t want to double book you!

Early Arrivals or Late Departures

One thing we can’t control are the flight times or ferry schedule. But if you have an early arrival or a late departure don’t feel like you are wasting the day waiting for your yacht or flight.

We can help organise day passes at local hotels so that you can fully enjoy the Greek sunshine from the moment you arrive or until the moment you have to depart.

If you would rather explore we can pick you up, take your luggage to the yacht and drop you off in a location of your choice. We would then collect you later in the day to meet your yacht and crew.

If you are embarking from Corfu, there is also a swimming pool, cafes and bars in the marina or if you are in Kefalonia beautiful beaches and tavernas to keep you occupied.

Getting Around throughout the Week

Throughout your week, if there are places you would like to visit on the islands themselves, your crew can help arrange taxis to pick you up and drop you off at your yacht. In the summer, let the crew know in the morning so they can phone ahead: some of the smaller islands only have two of three taxis in total!

Once on board, getting around takes a decidedly aquatic turn…!
