Starting or finishing in Corfu, you will visit seven islands in seven days, taking in the highlights of each. The one-way trip is perfect for those after a blend of sailing and exploring. The gap between the North and South Ionian enjoys beautiful vistas of uninterrupted horizon toward Italy, and the expanse of perfect blue that has to be seen to be believed.
Days are spent enjoying the best that the Ionian has to offer: from the crystal clear waters of Paxos to the ancient history of Ithaca and every island in between.
The distance between the North and South Ionian also allows for one afternoon enjoying some time further away from land. This is a day where the likelihood of seeing dolphins is far greater in the open water: our sailing team have also seen tuna, swordfish, Mahi-Mahi and some beautiful sea birds! Always in sight of the land, this is a beautiful day on the water and a chance to really stretch the legs of your yacht enjoying some of the best sailing the Ionian has to offer.
Arrive and settle in to your ‘floating villa’.
Our aim is to get out of the marina as soon as possible to find a nice anchorage for a late afternoon swim, followed by a relaxing dinner on board or ashore at a local taverna.
Agni and Kalami are favourites to the North whilst Boukari and Petriti are wonderful locations to the South.
Start your cruise to the South with a sail to the collection of islands called Sivota Mourtos near Greek Mainland.
Take the tender to explore the caves and try your hand at paddleboarding straight off the back of your yacht.
Dine onboard and enjoy a night of star-gazing from the comfort of the bow.
Look out for shooting stars and don’t forget to make a wish!
After a leisurely breakfast head south toward Paxos.
Stop in a bay en route for lunch and swim before heading to Paxos for the evening.
Now the first big decision – where to moor?
Lakka for the turquoise water, Gaios for a bit more buzz or (our favourite) Loggos for a relaxed intimate feel.
At each destination there are excellent options for dinner ashore.
Paxos has so much to offer you may want an extra day to explore.
Another option is to make the short trip to the sister island of Anti-Paxos – there are no villages or ports but some of the most beautiful bays in the Med (most of the photos on the website were taken there).
Spend a morning and early afternoon there and then when the wind comes in after lunch, do the short hop to the mainland and a night at anchor in Two Rock Bay or, or if the weather doesn’t allow go ashore at picture-postcard Parga.
Today is the day when North becomes South.
After a lazy breakfast, set sail and enjoy a lunch on the go as you head towards the Lefkas Canal and the entrance to the southern Ionian Islands.
Head past the bustling town of Lefkas and enjoy the lovely bays on Meganissi. After a full day on the water stretch your legs with a stroll round Little Vathi harbour and sample fresh fish on the waterfront.
Life is developing a bit of a pattern now, a quiet morning with swimming, paddle-boarding and maybe some watersports (ringo, water-skiing or if there are any youngsters onboard it will be nothing but wakeboarding).
Only a short distance today so no hurry to get going.
The end-point is probably the prettiest village in the south, Kioni on Ithaca.
Dine onboard under the windmills or ashore at either Lizzy’s or Mills.
We highly recommend a visit to the bar tucked in the backstreets that serves the best espresso martinis this side of Athens.
The last full day is by no means a quiet one.
A lazy start from Kioni to one of our secret private bays and then around the northern tip of Ithaca and into Fiscardo, the most cosmopolitan of the Ionian villages.
It will be super-yacht central and time to do some people (and boat) watching.
Be sure to break out the smart togs for an evening ashore. Of course we will moor away from the crowds and your Captain will escort you directly to your dinner table by private speed-boat.
It’s time to pack your bags full of all those wonderful holiday memories…and the odd trinket or two!
Our driver will take you to the airport, or it’s also wonderful to spend a few days relaxing on Kefalonia after your holiday.
Embarkation is 1700 and disembarkation is 0900.
