Are you a Greek Island Explorer?

Cruising the Greek Islands by luxury private yacht is the an incredible way to explore one of the most beautiful and charming areas of the Mediterranean.  We have spent many years discovering the very best bays, villages and anchorages, resulting in this ‘Greek Island Explorer’ route.  Alongside our ‘One Way‘ route Island Explorer is probably our ultimate itinerary, starting in Kefalonia and sailing North to Corfu, via islands such as Ithaca, Meganissi, Lefkas and Paxos.

Of course, the itinerary isn’t fixed, and some of our guests seek the quieter bays with crystal clear blue water, whereas some prefer the atmospheric and bustling villages teeming with the Greek tradition of life lived outside.  Our knowledgeable crew will adjust the route to make sure your week is perfect.

A true perk of a yachting holiday is poring over the charts with your skipper to decide where to travel to each day.  The route is created with you – not for you – to suit your preferences and take advantage of the weather.  Below however, is an idea of what you might expect on an island explorer trip…

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - The South.

Arrive and settle in to your private luxury yacht in the beautiful village of Agia Effimia.

Either enjoy a relaxed first evening on the village quay or find a nice anchorage for a late afternoon swim and a relaxing dinner on board.

Day 2 - Break out the Smart Togs.

It’s the first full day on the water, the sun is shining, the company is enchanting and Mamma Mia is playing on board.

Enjoy a gentle sail to one of our secret private bays and then around the northern tip of Ithaca and into Fiscardo, the most cosmopolitan of the Ionian villages.

Do some people watching and break out the smart togs for an evening ashore.

Day 3 - Lazy Starts and Espresso Martinis.

After a lazy start sail to the prettiest village in the south, Kioni on Ithaca.

Take a lunch stop at the spectacular Afales Bay – with the bluest water we’ve found so far!

Then into the village for dinner but only after a visit to the bar that serves the best espresso martini this side of Athens.

Day 4 - Dolphin Spotting.

Zig zag through the islands enjoying the dramatic scenery and dolphin spotting.

After a ‘busy’ day of watersports and sailing pick a bay on the smaller island of Meganissi.

Dinner on board, or stroll to Errikos, the best fish restaurant on the island.

Day 5 - The North.

Today’s a big sailing day!

Head north in time for the swing bridge that opens up the Lefkas Canal and the entrance to the northern Ionian islands.

Stretch your legs in the bustling town of Gaios on Paxos or for a quiet evening drop the hook in Kipadi.

Day 6 - Lakka or Loggos?

Spend the day circumnavigating Paxos and enjoying all that Poseidon’s playground has to offer.

For sailors paradise try Lakka or for a more sophisticated vibe Loggos is our favourite.

Enjoy paddleboarding, snorkelling and of course a spot of yacht watching!

Day 7 - One Last Ringo.

Enjoy the last full day on board as you leave Paxos and sail towards Corfu.

Lunch in Lefkimmi, tucked behind the reef offering plenty of shelter for one last ringo.

Moor under the impressive Corfu Old Fort and explore the winding streets of the islands capital.

Day 8 - Bon Voyage.

Time to disembark and head to the airport.

Your private driver will take you to Corfu Airport, or perhaps you booked a few extra days on the island before you head home.

Either way, make sure to give us a call and tell us what you thought – so we know what to plan for your next trip…
