Flights to Greece

Flights to Greece are regular and operated by multiple airlines. Our yachts are based in Gouvia Marina on Corfu or Agia Effimia on Kefalonia. There are both direct flights and transits through all major European hubs.

Flight time from the UK to the Ionian is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. There are direct flights to Greece from a number of airports in the United Kingdom from April until November. The most popular are British Airways, EasyJet, Aegean Air, Tui, Jet2 and Ryanair.

There are three airports which may be of interest to you when Sailing in the Greek Islands; Corfu, Kefalonia and Preveza. If you are travelling from smaller airports or outside of Europe/UK you may need to connect via Athens airport. Booking ahead is advised, as there are some excellent early deals to be had and flights are released online up to a year in advance.

Please check your route and booking statement before confirming your flights. If you have any questions email Helen, our Greek Sailing Expert.

Greece is GMT +2 and observes the same daylight savings as the UK.

Flight to Greece overlooking Mandraki

Ioannis Kapodistras (CFU)

The airport for Corfu is Ioannis Kapodistras or more commonly Corfu International Airport.

Typically direct flights to Corfu from the UK begin in May and end November. It is this airport you will need for our Corfu to Corfu routes as well as some of our One Way trips either starting or finishing in Corfu.

Landing in Corfu is brilliant as you often fly over Mandraki fortress (ask your crew if you can visit here), Gouvia Marina (where you will meet your yacht) and Mouse Island.

There is a 20/30 minute transfer from the airport to Gouvia Marina, where you will meet your yacht.

Anna Pollatou (EFL)

Anna Pollatou airport is situated on the island of Kefalonia and is the gateway to the South Ionian.

Similarly to Corfu, Kefalonia had direct flights from the largest UK airports from May to October. This airport is the perfect starting point for our ‘Odyssey’ routes or at the start or end of your ‘One Way’ route.

There is a 30/40 minute transfer from the airport to the village of Agia Effimia to meet your yacht. It is a beautiful journey and should be thought of as the start of your holiday rather than a means to an end.

Aktion International Airport (PVK)

Just to confuse things, Aktion International Airport is situated in Preveza. This is the airport you need if you are embarking or disembarking in Lefkas.

Preveza Airport is open in just the holiday season, adding an additional flight route from the UK and Europe to the Ionian. It is just a short transfer from this airport to Lefkas, where you can meet your yacht.

A new dual carriageway makes the journey even shorter!

Fly over the impressive coastline. Start your holiday in style.
