However, the island has much more to offer. Most people think of Zanzibar as the main island of Unguja. But in fact it is an archipelago consisting of another island called Pemba and many small atolls. I’m attracted to the beautiful main island of Unguja, which, in contrast to the Tanzanian mainland, is very Arabic in character.
