The Caribbean coast is one of the most diverse parts of the country both culturally and physically. In the north you have the winding canals of Tortuguero and the south is home to tropical beaches. The coast has influences that range from Afro-Caribbean to Hispanic and Miskito Indian and you will find the food, architecture and feel quite different to the rest of the country.
Tortuguero National Park can only be accessed by plane or boat and it is a great place to see an abundance of wildlife in the dense network of canals, swamps and waterways. Nearly all properties here work on a full board programme including all meals, transfers and some excursions. This can make them feel quite group orientated but we have handpicked the best selection for you and will go through the options dependant on budget.
For the Caribbean Beaches you will be heading to the golden sands around Cahuita. This part of the country really lives by Costa Rica’s slogan ‘Pura Vida’Â the simple life. Most properties are simple wooden bungalows decorated in vibrant colours nestled amongst palm trees. We have however found some more luxurious gems too but even here the dress code for dinner will be flip flops :).
Do you fancy having a chat about Caribbean Coast? Personally, it's one of our favourite things to talk about.
