The Osa Peninsula is one of the most remote and unique parts of Costa Rica and is a true highlight, especially for wildlife lovers. It is in the very south-west of the country and is much less accessible than other locations, however we think this only adds to the appeal.
The properties here have been carefully managed and created to have minimal impact on the abundance of wildlife in the area. Air-conditioning isn’t found in even the most high end of places and instead natural sea breezes and fans are used among other environmentally friendly design features.
Most of the accommodation is accessible only by boat or by remote dirt tracks – on either route you tend to see a whole host of animals before even arriving at your lodge. On arrival it can easily feel like you are on an isolated tropical island with properties being miles apart and all having an abundance of their own nature trails. We have handpicked our favourite selection of hotels to suit different budgets and ensure this is a true highlight of your holiday!
