The area of Puerto Viejo Talamanca is a relaxed part of Costa Rica on the Caribbean side known for its diving and snorkelling. The area does not have high end resorts and instead small simple properties lining the coast. La Cameleon is the most upscale property in the area but do not expect 5*.
The hotel is contemporary with minimalist décor which is very different to the wooden style bungalows commonly found. The rooms are decorated completely in white and are spacious with good-sized bathrooms. All have a very private small outside balcony or terrace with the master suite having a larger terrace overlooking coconut trees where Toucans are commonly seen.
All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, TV with DVD player, CD player, wife and safe. It is located just a few steps from Cocles beach which is a good area for swimming or surfing. The hotel’s restaurant is Numu bar which is located just over the road on the beach and has a great menu as well as a perfect place for an evening cocktail. You will often find live music played here too.
A highlight of the property is the lovely central pool area which has a good-sized swimming pool within wooden decking and a number of sun loungers surrounding it making it a fantastic place to relax.
This is a great option for more chic and stylish boutique property in a good location right near to the beach and close to the town.
