North Pacific Coast

The Northern coast of Costa Rica can take slightly longer to get to than other coastlines in the country, however  you are rewarded with some of the most idyllic beaches. The further you travel the quieter it gets too!

Tamarindo is the main focus to this coastline and has long golden sand beaches looking out to incredible Pacific sunsets. Its stunning spot has attracted larger all-inclusive resorts however we have found a few intimate hotels that provide a more personalised service but allow those looking for more of a buzz from their time on the beach.

Playa Potrero

Slightly to the north of Tamarindo is Playa Potrero which is more secluded and isolated if this is what you are looking for. It also has the least rainfall so a good option for beach time through the green season.

Nicoya Peninsula

This part of the country has a real focus on surfing and you will find this with the hotels too. They are often intimate and stylish with an underlying theme of health, well being and surfs up! Whilst it can be a bit of a slog on unpaved roads to get here if you have a good amount of time to be on the beach, this laid back atmosphere and chic properties make it a firm favourite for beach time on your Costa Rica holiday!
