We’ve put together this itinerary to demonstrate that you can treat yourself to a magical 10 night trip to Belize whilst keeping the costs down. This trip takes you into the jungle for wildlife spotting, river trips, cave exploring and Maya temple tours. You will also stay on a tiny Caye right on the Belize Barrier Reef so you could not be closer to the marine life! We have kept costs down by limiting the number of destinations that you will visit in Belize and by using our lead in accommodation options. This itinerary is just a guide and can be adapted to suit you, just get in touch! Email us at belize@fleewinter.com
Today you will touch down in Belize International airport and be warmly greeted by your driver who will whisk you away to your first home in Belize. You can now explore the grounds at your leisure and unwind into holiday mode. Take a stroll along a jungle trail and look out for toucans, parrots and over 300 other birds that call this place home! Refresh in the cool river or simply sit back and relax into a good book.
Today you will enjoy one of the most memorable breakfasts of your life, as you sit looking out at the awe inspiring view of the Macal River below and cliffs beyond. Watch hundreds of tropical birds feed on fruit before your very eyes as you tuck into a delicious breakfast of your choice. Today you can choose to explore one of the many jungle trails, keeping an eye out for howler monkeys and toucans! Or perhaps you fancy enjoying the jungle by river today, so why not walk up the river with a rubber ring and float down to the lodge. You can also arrange to go on a guided hike up into the National Park and reach the summit of the impressive cliffs that face the property.
Today is an adventure day and another chance to delve deeper into the fascinating Maya history in the Belize jungle. The Xunantunich ruins are only an hours drive from your hotel so it won’t be long before you find yourself in front of the impressive 7th century AD Maya city, but not before you have successfully crossed the Mopan River in a hand-cranked cable ferry!
Today is yours to spend as you choose. Hang out by the river and swim, float or canoe. Or perhaps you prefer the jungle infinity pool… Take a walk on a jungle trail or arrange to head out on another excursion with the amazing team. The guides here are just excellent; some of the best in Belize, so whatever you decide to do, you’ll be in great hands!
After another delicious breakfast with a view, you will be whisked away to your next destination in Southern Belize, at the tip of the white sand Placencia Peninsula. En-route, you have the option of stopping off for a cave tubing and zip-lining adventure! Exploring the caves of Belize is an exciting and very educational experience. There is a lot of Mayan history in these ancient caves so a stop is well worth it. Your new home is a comfortable cabin right on the beachfront, with sea views.
Today is a time to relax and explore your new surroundings. You are about 7 miles north of the brilliantly vibrant, little village of Placencia. Take a shuttle down and check out the local shops, restaurants and bars and soak up the warm, amazingly friendly vibe. The people of Belize are so kind, fun and genuinely welcoming and Placencia is a perfect place to meet the locals.
Today you can take a boat trip for your choice of activity. Fancy catching a fish? Or exploring other sites along the reef for diving or snorkelling? Today is your day to get out on a boat! We can arrange a snorkelling trip that will take you out to the Belize Barrier reef. With over 500 species of fish living here, you will be astounded at what you see. Look out for lobsters, rays, turtles, octopuses and dolphins! If you prefer to have a go at catching a grand slam, then we can arrange the fishing trip of a lifetime!
Spend today at your leisure, relaxing on the beach or by the pool. If you fancy getting out on the water, then we can arrange for you to go sailing, kayaking or paddle boarding.
Today you have an inland trip to learn more about some of the prominent cultures of Belize; Garifuna and Creole. Music is an extremely important part of Belizean life and for the Garifuna population here, this means drumming. Have a go yourself at making a beat and enjoy getting to know a little more about the different cultural influences in Belize. After, you’ll get a chance to cook some authentic Creole food, giving you a taste of another influential Belizean culture.
This is your last day. We have left this free so that you can choose to spend it how you wish. We can arrange for another excursion, as there is plenty to see and do. Alternatively you can just relax, take another trip into Placencia village and eat and drink well!
Today we will transfer you to take a local flight back to Belize International airport where you will continue on your journey home. Safe travels!
