You will be greeted by the warm and engaging staff who will ensure your stay is comfortable and a journey of new knowledge and friends. There are a total of 20 cabins at Black Rock, all of which have incredible closeness and views of the surrounding jungle. The rooms are elegantly and simply decorated, showcasing local artwork. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with hot water and closets. There is a range of cabin style to choose from, ranging from beautiful River Front Suites and Cabins to River View Cabins. There is also the Birds Nest which is ideal for families. The guides at Black Rock Lodge are some of the finest that you will find in Belize with an incredibly in-depth knowledge whether its about birding, the flora and fauna, or Mayan history and culture. Onsite activities include bird watching (which is fantastic here, especially in January to May whilst the migratory birds are around) and you will easily spot one of the three toucans that you find in Belize. There are trails to walk including to Vaca Falls, a fabulous spot to relax and enjoy for a few hours. There is also a very enjoyable river tubing experience that depending on where you decide to disembark, it ranges from a calm and peaceful float to more of a exhilarating rapid adventure! There are also canoes to paddle down the Macal River and it is common to spot iguanas, toucans, hummingbirds and king fishers. You can paddle to Chaa Creek Lodge for lunch, the butterfly exhibit or even visit the botanical gardens then be collected by Black Rock for your return. Being fairly remote, you will enjoy your three meals a day in the main lodge and usually, Black Rock likes to have dinner in ‘family style’ meaning that you will sit with other guests at the lodge which is a fantastic way to share stories of your day and all the magical experiences you’ve had!
