The Rovos Train

This three ‘T’s’-journey Trains, Towns and Trails, you start with one overnight in Pretoria. After that, the next morning you have a transfer to the Rovos Railway Station. Indeed, now it is time to hopp on the well-know Rovos train and spend 3 nights travelling from Pretoria to Cape Town. During your tour you stop at the ‘Diamond’ town Kimberly. For example you can visit the diamond museum and see the “Big Hole”. Following the Kimberley stop, the journey takes you Matjiesfontein. At this pointm you are able to stroll through this lovely historical village. Before the train continues through the Karoo, heading for Cape Town.

Cape Town & the Winelands

Furthermore, the next part of your Trains, towns and trails journey is in Cape Town. In fact a private transfer will pick you up at the railway station and take you to your hotel. Cape Town Hollow is in walking distance to both shops and restaurants. As soon as you collect your rental car the next morning, you are ready to explore! In detail, you spend 4 nights in Cape Town, before your trains, towns and trails journey takes you to the Winelands. Over and above, Stellenbosch is a lovely vibrant university town. Offering both shops and cosy restaurants and bars. During your stay in Stellenbosch, I highly recommend to visit Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden. The setting is just amazing! Having said that, you spend 3 nights in Stellenbosch before your journey gets a little ‘wilder’

Kruger Safari

Finally the trains, towns and trails tour now takes you from the Winelands to Cape Town airport. Finally you fly into the Kruger National Park and Sabi Sands. Basically your adventure begins, as soon as you hit the ground at Skukuza Airport. Another keypoint is that Skukuza is situated within the Kruger National Park.  Hence, …. your first ‘game drive’ starts right here. Finally you spend 3 nights at Savanna Safari Lodge, an exclusive 5-star lodge. As a matter of fact, Savanna is situated in the famous Sabi Sands Reserve. Hence, enjoy 2 full-days in the bush!  Coupled with morning and afternoon game drive you spend your days listening to the serenity of the African bush. On the last day of your trains, towns and trails journey, you have one last morning game drive, before your road transfer will take you back to Skukuza for your flight to Johannesburg.
