The Amazon needs no introduction! It is the life spring of the planet and who hasn’t dreamt of entering this mystical rainforest? If you love nature, a visit to the Amazon is a must however, wildlife here is more secretive than in the Pantanal and these encounters will depend greatly on your lodge location and the length of your stay. Amazon experiences are more subtle and noble, they are about reconnecting with nature on a deeper level and taking pleasure in the simpler things.

Accommodation here is in the form of lodges that offer full board, return transfers from Manaus airport and all excursions led by naturalist guides. Or, if you prefer to explore from a different vantage point, river cruises could just be the perfect answer!

Manaus is the gateway to the Amazon. It is big city and you might need to spend a night before or after your rainforest adventure. Here hotels can be quite corporate but we have managed to also find some boutique offerings.

And Cristalino Lodge is a world of its own! Located in the southern Amazon basin, it enjoys a unique position where the Pantanal meets the rainforest. The gateway to Cristalino is the city of Alta Floresta, connected by flight to Cuiaba only and therefore the perfect destination to combine with the Pantanal. This lodge is in the lists of the world’s best lodges by many prestigious travel publications, it truly is a magical and special place surrounded by a plethora of wildlife species.
