The Costa Verde (Green Coast) of Brazil stretches west of Rio de Janeiro and it is so called because of its lush and verdant vegetation plummeting into crystal clear waters. Its gems and most famous destinations are Angra dos Reis, where luxury meets nature, the eco-tourism capital of Ilha Grande and the colonial gem of Paraty, where nature meets history. They are all easily reachable by land and sea from Rio de Janeiro thus making them a straightforward addition to any Brazilian holiday if you fancy a beach escape at the end of your adventure.
Angra dos Reis and Paraty offer good infrastructure and hotel choices for all budgets whereas Ilha Grande’s accommodation offerings are mainly modest inns and pousadas.
Do you fancy having a chat about Green Coast: Paraty, Angra dos Reis and Ilha Grande? Personally, it's one of our favourite things to talk about.
