Cristalino Jungle Lodge, located in Alta Floresta in the state of Mato Grosso, guides the visitors into ecotourism activities through the southern Amazon. And it is, in fact, a Private National Heritage Reserve, which has an area of 11.399 hectares of preserved nature and sustainable infrastructure. Created in 1997, it is worldwide recognized as one of the most important National Reserves in Brazil, thanks to its outstanding of biodiversity.
Blending in with the native forest on the banks of the River Cristalino, the stand-alone wooden bungalows offer modern high-quality facilities. They all have high ceilings, ceramic tiled floors, ceiling fans and large windows which provide natural ventilation and offer beautiful views of the forest.
The floating deck is situated on the river. In the evening the open log fire creates a cheerful atmosphere, where guests can embrace the lush nature and a sky full of stars.
This lodge is located in a more elevated part of the Amazon, which means that the river does not flood the forest here, allowing walks along the forest trails at any time of year and increasing the chance of spotting animals. There are many activities to enjoy such as canoeing, jungle walks, bird-watching, photography tours and educational trips to the observation towers where you can catch the sunrise and sunset.
Alta Floresta's only flight connection is with Cuiaba, thus making a stay at Cristalino an obvious choice either before or after the Pantanal.
