Marrakech is well worth a visit on its own (3 or 4 days is usually enough), but if you have a bit longer then we would suggest combining it with Fes, the spiritual capital of Morocco. An important consideration is flights and at the moment you can get direct flights to both Fes and Marrakech plus with a direct hour flight from Fes to Marrakech, this trip has never been easier.

Itinerary - Summary
Short trip combining the imperial cities of Morocco. Start with a few nights in Fes from where you will take a day trip to visit the roman ruins of Volubilis and the city of Meknes. From Fes you will take a short flight to finish off your stay in the historic city of Marrakech.
Day 1 - Arrive in Fes
Our driver will meet you at the aiport and take you into the Medina (about 20 mins) and then you will be escorted to your riad. There are lots of lovely riads in Fes but a real gem is Karawan Riad. Fes riads are generally much taller than Marrakech ones and Karawan Riad is no exception – you feel like you are in a building made for giants. Whilst Karawan Riad is one of the newest renovations the focus has been completely on capturing the true spirit of restful decor; spacious lofty rooms and tranquility in all areas.
Day 2 - Explore Fes
Because the Medina of Fes is on a hill you have a great sense of where you are. It also means a good way to explore is to start at the top and work downwards. There are plenty of historical sites and it is worth a visit to the tanneries, of which you get a great view from the surrounding balconies.
Day 3 - Meknes & Volubilis
After a day in the Medina a great day trip is to get out to the Roman Ruins at Volubilis and combine that with a stop at Meknes- the fourth of Morocco’s imperial cities. Volubilis is not as spectacular as the Roman sites on the Mediterranean rim but it is still a relaxed way of envisaging an important part of Moroccan history.
Day 4 - Flight to Marrakech
There is a good flight service linking Fes and Marrakech and it only takes just under an hour Once in Marrakech you can stay in the Medina or out on the edge of the city. Our new found is Riad Nashira & Spa in the Medina for its stylish design and one of the most unique spa in Marrakech.
Day 5 - Explore Marrakech
You won’t run out of things to do in Marrakech, a city where you can spend days exploring grandiose palaces and mosques, photogenic gardens, sacred tombs, and traditional mansions that evoke a bygone era. Medina of Marrakech and Saadian Tombs will appeal to history buffs. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Marrakech Souk and Menara Gardens and Pavilion. The adventure continues: hunt for treasures at Jemaa el-Fnaa, examine the collection at Jardin Majorelle, take in the spiritual surroundings of Koutoubia Mosque and Minaret, and contemplate the long history of El Badi Palace.
Day 6 - Take a day trip
Just an hour drive from Marrakech is the Agafay Desert, stone desert great for a lovely day out, if you interested in organising quad biking or camel trekking. If you rather relax and soak up some sun we suggest to visit the Beldi Country Club. Their day entrance gives you the access to the pool and loungers facilities and includes a delicious lunch, perfect day out for the summer time. Another great day out is a trip to the High Atlas and a wonderful trek through the Berber villages.
Day 7 - Home
Your driver will to take you to Marrakech airport for the journey home and you will have seen two different cities of Morocco in just after a week.
