Your Itinerary

Day 1 - UNESCO Langhe Hills

Fly into Turin airport and make your way onto your beautiful boutique hotel in the UNESCO-protected Langhe hills, where you will be spending the next few days exploring this special region’s stunning countryside and food and wine scene. Your hotel is conveniently positioned in the pretty village of La Morra, which has lots of delicious local eateries and enotecas.

Day 2: - E-Bike tour

Today you will embark on an exhilarating e-bike adventure, with the help of your private local guide (english speaking). You will whizz through vineyards, medieval villages and hamlets, before stopping for a traditional lunch and refuel. This tour can be tailored to suit your fitness levels and requirements.

Day 3 - Barolo & Barbaresco wine tour

Today you will explore some of the best Nebbiolo wineries in the region, on an informative wine-tasting tour with a private transfer. You will visit two Barolo vineyards and two Barbaresco vineyards, for an informative tour and tasting. You will also enjoy a light lunch in one of the cellars. You will have a private transfer take you between vineyards and through the beautiful Unesco hills!

Day 4 - A taste of Piedmont

Today you will visit a small hazelnut-producing farm, where you will learn all about how they prepare the hazelnuts for a range of tasty products. This will be followed by a delicious tasting. Then onto a panoramic tour at a local cheese producer followed by a tasting and light lunch. This afternoon you will take part in an interactive cooking class where you shall learn to make traditional dishes using local ingredients under the supervision of an expert chef.  After the cooking class you will sit down to your creations for a special and atmospheric dinner. You will have a private transfer for this excursion, so that you can enjoy all the food & wine.

Day 5 - Pesto making fun!

This morning you will head onto the historic port town of Genoa, where you’ll have a couple of days to explore the famous old town and marina area. After you have checked-in at your new hotel in the historic centre, you will be met by your private guide who will take you to a beautiful Renaissance palace where a pesto expert will teach you how to make this mouth-watering green sauce in an interactive cooking class! At the end of the lesson you will sit down to a plate of fresh pesto pasta and glass of crisp Ligurian wine. Enjoy a memorable and super tasty lunch!

Day 6 - Explore the old town...

After breakfast, you’ll be met by your private guide who will take you on a historical and cultural walking tour of the city centre. You’ll discover Genoa’s famous monuments, narrow alleyways and ancient food shops and markets! This is an opportunity to get-under-the-skin of the authentic Genoa, as you explore the maze of narrow cobbled streets, majestic palaces and impressive piazzas. You will stop for some local food tastings along the way, before breaking for lunch at a local trattoria where you can taste many local specialities. Genoa has the largest medieval old town in Europe!

Day 7 - Rugged Liguria

Today you will head onto to a more wild and rugged side of Liguria. You will be staying in the ancient village of Borgomaro, for a taste of local rural life, just a few kilometers from the Ligurian Sea. This afternoon you will be met by your private guide and taken on a hiking tour in the surrounding lush countryside. We can tailor the walk to suit your requirements, from leisurely walks in the woods, or more challenging trails. This evening you will enjoy a typical dinner at your authentic home away from home!

Day 8 - Bio-dynamic farm tour

After an impressive brunch this morning, you will head out by foot to a local bio-dynamic farm for a tour and wine tasting. Here they make lots of local products in an organic and sustainable way. You will then enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch in the grounds, with produce straight from the farm and onto your fork! The rest of the day is free for you to spend as you wish. You might like to relax by the hotel’s pool, or splash around in the crystal clear rivers which run through the villages. You could also drive to the beach! This evening we recommend eating at a local restaurant in the village to get a proper feel for local life. This is a very unique experience in a lesser-known, but no less beautiful, part of Liguria!

Day 9 - Time for a little bit of luxury!

You will leave village life behind, as you head to the the glittering coast and specifically the sunny town of Alassio. You will spend the final two days of your trip relaxing at the beautifully luxurious Villa Della Pergola. When you’re not lying by the pool sipping cocktails, or having a massage overlooking the ocean, or reading a book in their botanial gardens, you may want to stroll down to the beach and neighbouring towns. There are lots of lovely seafood restaurants and waterfront bars nearby. Sunsets are incredible!

Day 10 - Final day to chill off...

Enjoy your final day in Liguria in this stunning seaside setting. The views from your hotel are out of this world and their in-house restaurant is pretty special too. We recommend exploring some of the cliff-top walking trails if you’re feeling energetic. There are also many pretty fishing villages worth exploring.

Day 11 - Time to say goodbye

Today you will head back to Genoa airport for your return flight home. You should be feeling very well rested and relaxed by now!

Piedmont, Italy
Piedmont, a region of Italy bordering France and Switzerland, sits at the foot of the Alps. It’s known for sophisticated cuisine and wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco.
Alba, Piedmont
Alba is a town and comune of Piedmont, Italy, in the province of Cuneo. It is considered the capital of the UNESCO Human Heritage hilly area of Langhe, and is famous for its white truffle, peach and wine production.
Turin Airport
The drive from Turin Airport to Alba, takes a little over an hour and relatively scenic route. We can either arrange car hire at the airport or a private transfer.
Milan–Malpensa Airport
Milan–Malpensa Airport is the largest international airport for the Milan metropolitan area in northern Italy. The drive from Milan Malpensa airport to Alba, takes just under two hours. There are regular flights from the UK with a number of budget airlines.
Milan Bergamo Airport
Milan Bergamo airport offers another option in the area, with regular flights departing from London with Ryan Air. More
Milan Linate Airport
Milan Linate Airport is the secondary international airport of Milan, the second-largest city of Italy, behind Malpensa Airport. It takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to drive from Linate airport to Alba. We reccomend you flights to this airport with Easy Jet and British Airways. More

Forlimpopoli
This lovely little town is an important part of the region's food heritage. Casa Artusi is a wonderful cookery school offering various classes and courses, and the annual Festa Artusiana is a must-see!
Emilia-Romagna
Home to the 'food and motor valley', this beautiful region stretches from the Adriatic sea up through peaceful countryside and rolling hills, with Bologna as its lively capital city.
Liguria
The 'Italian Riviera' is a narrow crescent-shaped region hugging the coast to the north-west of Italy. The port city of Genoa is its capital, whose medieval centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Genoa
Genoa, the historical capital city of Liguria, is the largest historical centre in Europe. Its painted palaces on Via Garibaldi date back to the 15th Century.
Borgomaro
Borgomaro is the main town at the bottom of the Maro valley, in the north-west region of Liguria. The mountain setting and surrounding landscape is a must for keen hikers.
Sestri Levante
The pretty coastal town consists of two bays, named Bay of Silence and Bay of Fairy Tales (so named after writer Hans Christian Andersen).
Portofino
Glitzy Portofino has a slightly more exclusive feel then some of the region's other more rustic neighbours. High-end boutiques and seafood restaurants overlook the harbour.
Santa Margherita
Portofino's next door neighbour, this pretty fishing village is a great spot for hiking as well as relaxing by the sea.
Bologna Airport (BLQ)
Journey in to Bologna city from the airport in under 30 minutes.
Genoa Airport (GOA)
Located more or less in the centre of the region, the beautiful towns and villages of Liguria can be reached in less than 2 hours from Genoa airport.
