A medieval townhouse in the heart of Genoa’s city centre houses this lovely 3 star hotel. Whilst the property has had a modern makeover and features contemporary furniture and sleek design, care has been taken to retain the character of the building features such as ornate plasterwork, beautiful marble floors, and delightful original frescoes.

The 15 rooms at Le Nuvole boast high ceilings and are finished in a contemporary style, with a simple colour scheme and stylish furniture. There are nods to the heritage of the building in the Genovese marble floors and intricate friezes. All are en-suite and most rooms feature lovely high ceilings, giving a spacious feeling. The en-suites are spacious and offer rain showers, some with a separate bath. There are a mixture of large double beds, twin beds and single beds, whilst the Superior Quadruple Room can house four guests, with two single beds and one large double beds, ideal for families! Wifi is available throughout.

Facilities are few at the property, but the warm welcome and super helpful staff go above and beyond for guests. There is no bar, but a cosy lounge serves hot drinks and biscuits and breakfast is served at Palazzo Grillo, Le Nuvole’s sister property, on the same town square.

The location of Le Nuvole is fantastic for those looking to be right in the heart of Genoa’s intriguing medieval old town. The hotel has wonderful views over the tangle of narrow alley ways, medieval piazzas and beautiful facades of palaces and churches in the centre. The area is pedestrianised and the property is only a five-minute walk to the Porto Antico harbour and Aquarium. Please do note that there is no parking at the property itself, but if arriving by car it is possible to park in a nearby car park at Porto Antico for a discounted fee.
