Brazil is a perfect family holiday destination. It offers so much to keep both adults and children entertained and promises a lot of fun and lasting memories! In this itinerary you will taste ice cream and try your skills in a capoeira class in colonial Salvador da Bahia. You will zip line, take a bike tour, try your hand at cooking Brazilian dishes and take a cable car in Rio de Janeiro. You will witness the majesty of the Iguaçu falls and visit a bird park in Foz do Iguaçu. This is the perfect holiday for the whole family to enjoy a lot of fun activities whilst discover the natural beauty and culture of this intoxicating country. Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive in Salvador da Bahia

Arrive in Salvador where your guide and driver will meet you and take you by private car to your hotel. Depending on your flight arrival, you might have some free time before bedtime so why not enjoy a walk around the Pelourinho, Salvador’s charming historic centre?

Day 2 - Half day historic tour and ice cream tasting

A colourful and bright city, Salvador captivates everyone with the happiness of Afro-Brazilian culture. This unique charm is the consequence of the mixture of races, cultures and religions since its foundation. Today you will take a guided tour through the history and culture of this enchanting city followed by a delicious tasting of homemade ice cream!

Day 3 - Capoeira class

Capoeira is a combination of martial arts, sport and popular culture developed in Brazil by African slaves and Brazilian natives. In Brazil, Capoeira style was developed by Mestre Bimba, founder of the first Academy of Brazilian Capoeira. In this class, your family will have the opportunity to know the basic principles of capoeira and its movements, whilst being taught by a disciple of Mestre Bimba.

Day 4 - Fly to Rio de Janeiro

Today you will be taken by private car to Salvador airport to catch your flight to Rio. Once landed, your guide and driver will meet you and take you by private car to your hotel. Depending on your flight arrival, you might have some free time so why not enjoy Copacabana beach or maybe rent a motorised scooter for the whole family?

Day 5 - Half day jeep tour to Corcovado, Tijuca forest and Santa Teresa

Today will be full of everlasting memories as you visit three of the city’s most iconic and charming sights. You will be taken on a guided tour of Corcovado Mountain where you will appreciate the magnificent Christ the Redeemer statue and the view of whole Rio beneath you. Next stop will be the Tijuca forest with its waterfalls and lush vegetation. The tour will finish in one of the most historic and charming areas of the city, Santa Teresa.  You will travel around the city in an open jeep for a fun experience. The tour will last approximately 5 hours and afterwards the afternoon is free. If you wish, we can add a football class on Ipanema beach for the little ones!

Day 6 - Half day Sugarloaf and cooking class

Every year, over a million visitors go to the famous Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain), an iconic symbol of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Its name was given due to the resemblance to the traditional shape of a refined sugar loaf. Today your family will follow in these footsteps as you will travel by cable car to the top of Urca Hill first and then to Sugarloaf, rising 395 metres above sea level and offering a 360 degrees view of the entire city. You will follow this 4 hour tour with a cooking class for the whole family, a unique opportunity to learn how to cook some exotic and tasty traditional Brazilian meals. Besides cooking, you will learn about the origins and nutritional values of the different ingredients and you will taste what you have prepared in a friendly gathering at the end of the class.

Day 7 - Half day Catacumba park and bike tour

Today you will visit Catacumba park, a conservation area with plenty of options to entertain the whole family including zip lining and the children’s climbing wall. In the afternoon you will bike through the city. This is an open tour and you will have a guide at your disposal for a couple of hours so you can choose where to visit and how long to stay in each site.

Day 8 - Flight to Iguaçu Falls

Today you will fly to your last destination, the awe inspiring Iguaçu Falls. You will be taken to Rio de Janeiro airport where you will board your domestic flight to Foz do Iguaçu and once landed you will be met by your driver and taken by private car to your hotel.

Day 9 - Tour of the Brazilian side of the falls and Bird Park

Today will be a day of visual delights! You will visit the Brazilian side of the falls which offers a more panoramic view of the natural wonder and will give you a better idea of how big and majestic they are! Afterwards you will visit the Birds Park which is located next to the entrance of Iguaçu National Park. It is one of the most known attractions of the region, as it is the home of birds from all over the world. Set in beautiful surroundings, you will have direct contact with more than 150 species of birds in 16.5 hectares of spectacular Atlantic Forest. You will be side by side with toucans, scarlet ibises, macaws, jays and more!

Day 10 - Departure

Your family Brazil adventure has come to an end but you are leaving with memories that will stay with you forever. We have included your final transfer to the airport for your onward flight and adventure! Why not extend your holiday with a beach extension in lovely Buzios, a few hours away from Rio?

Rio de Janeiro
