Get to know Brazil and the Brazilian way of life through its delicious gastronomy and by learning how to prepare the most famous local and national dishes! You begin in Rio de Janeiro, where you will enjoy appetizers and a cold refreshing beer in one of the coolest bars in the city before learning how to prepare Brazil’s traditional ‘Feijoada’, a bean, beef and pork stew. You will then taste rare Amazonian fruits and enjoy typical dishes from Brazil’s Northeast region. In between a dish or two, you will also discover Rio’s most famous sites and experiences, including Corcovado and Sugar Loaf Mountain.

The next stop is São Paulo, one of the most important gastronomic destinations in the world. Here, you will combine visits to the city’s many attractions with tasting experiences of delicious regional specialities and a visit to the “Mercado Municipal”, where you will buy the ingredients needed for cooking lunch in the kitchen of one of Brazil’s top chefs.

And finally, Salvador de Bahia, where you will explore and enjoy more local cuisine, including ‘cachaças’ and the famous deep-fried ‘acarajé’. You will also learn how to cook a typical shrimp dish called ‘Bobó de Camarão’ in a local restaurant and will visit the Ceasinha, Mercado do Rio Vermelho, where you will savour local and regional delicacies and gourmet coffees.

This truly is an itinerary to titillate everyone’s taste buds!

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to the Cidade Maravilhosa

Arrive in Rio de Janeiro where your guide and driver will meet you and take you by private car to your hotel. Depending on your flight arrival, you might have some free time before bedtime so enjoy your hotel’s wonderful location near Copacabana beach.

Day 2 - Full day tour to Corcovado and Sugarloaf with BBQ lunch

Today will be full of everlasting memories as you visit two of the city’s, and arguably the world’s, most iconic sights. You will be taken on a full day guided tour of Corcovado Mountain where you will appreciate the magnificent Christ the Redeemer statue and the view of Rio and Guanabara Bay beneath you.  After a typical Brazilian BBQ lunch (included), you will be able to enjoy another stunning view of the city from Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain). You will take two cable cars to get to the hill’s top, and from here you will have a 360 degrees view of the entire city.

Day 3 - Half day evening bar food tour

Enjoy a privately guided evening tour through the famous bars of Rio. A lot of local culinary treats have originated from the city’s vivacious nightlife!

Day 4 - Cooking and tasting in Rio

A cooking class is a wonderful way to get under the skin of a country’s traditions and culture. Today is a unique opportunity to learn how to cook some exotic and tasty traditional Brazilian meals. Besides cooking, you will learn about the origins and nutritional values of the different ingredients and at the end you will taste what you have prepared in a friendly atmosphere.

Day 5 - Fly to São Paulo and half day tastes of São Paulo tour

Today you will be taken by private car to Rio’s airport to catch your flight to São Paulo. Once landed you will be met by your driver and taken in a private vehicle to your hotel where you will check-in.

In the afternoon you will visit the city’s main attractions together with the most famous bars and restaurants to learn about the culinary traditions that make São Paulo one of the world’s most important gastronomic destinations

Day 6 - Visit to Mercado Municipal and cooking class

Today Brazilian food is the highlight as you will be guided through the Municipal Market where you will buy the ingredients necessary for cooking a delicious lunch in the kitchen of one of Brazil’s most famous chefs!

Day 7 - Fly to Salvador de Bahia

Today you will be taken by private car to São Paulo’s airport to catch your flight to Salvador. Once landed you will be met by your driver and taken in a private vehicle to your hotel where you will check-in.

Day 8 - Half day walking city tour and evening tour to Rio Vermelho with dinner

A colourful and bright city, Salvador captivates everyone with the happiness of Afro-Brazilian culture. This unique charm is the consequence of the mixture of races, cultures and religions since its foundation. This morning you will take a guided tour through the history and culture of this enchanting city!

In the evening, you will be picked up at your hotel and taken by private car to Rio Vermelho for a guided tour of this hip neighbourhood that comes alive at the end of every day thanks to its many bars and restaurants. Afterwards, you will enjoy dinner at Casa de Teresa.

Day 9 - Panoramic city tour and sunset drink at Forte São Diogo

Enjoy a morning at leisure. In the afternoon you will be taken on a private tour of the lower part of the city that visits the Itapagipe Peninsula and the traditional neighbourhoods of Montserrat and Ribeira. Taste an artisanal ice cream and finish the day with a drink by the Forte São Diogo whilst admiring the beautiful sunset.

Day 10 - Departure

Today we have included the departure transfer to Salvador airport where you will catch your onward flight.

Rio de Janeiro
