Psssttt…. Sri Lanka is calling, and you should visit!

By Carly Watling on 14th February, 2024

Carly and Steffi think Sri Lanka should be your must-visit destination of 2024 / 2025

Sri Lanka is a dream to visit, with multiple stops over a couple of weeks, chauffeured in a comfy private vehicle.

Move a little or a lot – you can set your own pace. Sri Lanka touring is suitable for everyone including couples seeking luxury and families looking for something more adventurous than a resort holiday.

Sri Lanka has some kind of magic about it that’s hard to define.

There are only 2 months a year that we don’t recommend visiting (holidays interrupted by persistent monsoons aren’t our thing… ) – but the rest of the year it’s sunny somewhere all the time.

NEW Sri Lanka itineraries for 2024-2025

Suitable for couples and families alike, there really is something for everyone in Sri Lanka.

Cultural Triangle → Safari → Beach → Tea Country → Kandy

Family Wildlife Tour

Sri Lanka really does have it all

Wide, sandy beaches offering snorkelling, whale-watching and water sports.

Ancient temples and historic ruins.

Lush hill country traversed by the famous scenic train.

Mouthwatering local food and smiling locals keen to welcome you to the country.

In usual Fleewinter style, we recommend avoiding the bigger hotels. Stay in carefully renovated planters mansions set in acres of tea fields, quirky lodges in the protected national parks (the ideal base for a leopard safari) or a fully serviced beachfront villa – with your own chef.

With 2 weeks, you really can fit in all the key highlights, driving a well thought out loop, and still have time to relax.

Being chauffeured around by a private local english speaking driver means you are in control of your own trip. Stop when you want a break, spot a photo opportunity or a tasty street food stall… or an elephant chooses that moment to wander across the road.

Get an early start to the best hiking spot and reach the summit for sunrise, or choose to just lie-in and have breakfast by the hotel pool with a good book before heading to the local market.

Next Steps!

Remember, at Fleewinter the itineraries you see are just samples. Your dedicated country expert will work with you to build a fully personalised holiday for your group size, budget, and preferences.
