By Daphne Wijnveldt on 11th December, 2023

“With great pleasure I would like to introduce our sustainable Safaris destination: Zambia” – Daphne

Safaris in Zambia offer a unique and authentic African wildlife experience. Zambia is known for its pristine and remote wilderness areas, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a more exclusive and off-the-beaten-path safari adventure.

Here are some reasons why a safari in Zambia is special:

  • Untouched wilderness
  • Abundance of wildlife
  • Walking safaris
  • Victoria Falls
  • Lower Zambezi river
  • Remote camps

I have travelled through Zambia to visit the Green Safari lodges and I can say… It has been an amazing time!

Sustainable Eco Practices

Everything they do, they aim to do with the environment in mind

Staying ahead of the curve, they go all-in to achieve carbon neutrality.

The current operational carbon footprint is offset by planting 24,000 trees annually. Neutralising both operational and embodied carbon each year.

80% of the annual electricity usage comes from solar power. Electrical vehicles, bikes and boats are fully charged for an e-drive with 4 to 5 hours of sunlight. This means zero smoke and zero noise, resulting in 100% bush sounds and 100% bush smells! Also saving 29,200 litres of diesel per year.

All water comes from natural water sources and is recycled. The operational lodges have natural swimming pools, saving 820,000 litres or water per year.

Green Safari lodges use 0% of single-use plastic items, which means they save 1 kilo of plastic waste per bed night and the best part is…

…every ethical decision that is made, directly heightens the guest experience with lighter, fresher food, silent electric vehicles to get much closer to the wildlife and a happier, empowered team, safeguarding your every safari moment.

In Zambia ECO means LUXURY and…

When you choose to travel with us to the Green Safari properties, you travel with a Purpose:

  1. Outdoing your imagination
  2. Empowering people
  3. Conserving the environment
  4. Protecting wildlife

…sustainable adventures in the heart of Africa

The enchanting world of sustainable safari in Zambia. Here adventure meets conservation in the heart of Africa.

Situated in the southern part of Africa, Zambia offers a variety of diverse landscapes. As well as abundant wildlife, and a commitment to sustainable tourism that leaves a positive impact on the environment.

Join me as I unveil the beauty and magic of a eco-friendly safari experience in this captivating country.

Discover the Untamed Wilderness

Zambia’s national parks, such as South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi, and Kafue, are teeming with an impressive variety of untamed wildlife, making it a wilderness lover’s paradise.

Embark on thrilling game drives or walking safaris and be captivated by the awe-inspiring sights.

Witness elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and countless other species roaming freely in their natural habitats.

Connect with Conservation Efforts

One of the highlights of a green safari in Zambia is the opportunity to engage with conservation initiatives first hand. Many lodges and operators partner with local organizations to support anti-poaching efforts, wildlife rehabilitation, and community development projects.

Get involved in hands-on activities like rhino tracking, bird monitoring, or tree planting, playing an active role in safeguarding Zambia’s rich biodiversity.

Explore the Mighty Zambezi

No visit to Zambia would be complete without experiencing the majestic Zambezi River. Enjoy a boat safari or canoeing excursion along its meandering waters, witnessing elephants bathing, hippos lazing in the sun, and a myriad of bird species gracefully gliding overhead.

And of course, don’t miss the thundering spectacle of the iconic Victoria Falls – a UNESCO World Heritage site that should be on every bucket list.

Embrace Responsible Tourism Practices

Green safaris in Zambia emphasise the importance of responsible tourism practices.

From eco-friendly lodges built sustainably using locally-sourced materials to community-based initiatives that promote local involvement and empowerment, you’ll be able to enjoy a guilt-free holiday knowing that you are contributing to the preservation of Zambia’s unique ecosystems.

Why now?

Because sustainability is crucial today to address pressing global challenges like climate change, resource depletion, and biodiversity loss. Adopting sustainable practices ensures a balanced and resilient future, minimising environmental impact, fostering social responsibility, and promoting economic viability. It’s an imperative for preserving the planet and improving quality of life.

Our promise is:

  • Low Environmental Impact: Zambia’s commitment to sustainable tourism means that your visit has minimal impact on the environment, ensuring future generations can also enjoy its wonders.
  • Exclusive Experiences: With fewer crowds compared to some other African destinations, Zambia offers a more exclusive and intimate experience with nature.
  • Cultural Immersion: Engage with local communities, learn about their rich traditions, and contribute to responsible tourism that benefits both visitors and hosts.
