Hi, I’m Daphne – half Dutch, half Indonesian! I was born and raised in the Netherlands, but my heart took me to Germany as I got to know my partner in crime…

As a child, I was always passionate about animals, especially horses. Later, I also developed a passion for foreign countries and languages.

It was this combination of interests which finally brought me to Africa, a place that has now become my No.1! You could say that I am a passionate person…

I remember watching a documentary about horseback safaris, which made me realise that this was my calling. A perfect combination of my interests. So off I went, into a great horseback safari adventure! It was the experience of a lifetime and one which has touched my heart. Three months later I returned. Since then, at least once a year, I travel to Southern & Eastern Africa to explore more and more of these beautiful and exciting countries.

On one of my return trips, I bumped into Anthea and we connected right away. We have the same passion for animals, horseback riding and a love for Africa’s raw nature and wildlife. She is the one that introduced me into the Fleewinter Team. And here I stand today, planning trips in Southern and Eastern Africa. Sadly, Anthea moved on and is now living her dream of Ubuntu Healing

Africa has SO much to offer… it is beautiful, stunning, exciting, adventurous, and ever so relaxing. The nature is out of this world too, and the serenity of the wilderness (bush) is incredible. The wildlife just swept me off my feet, from the moment I stepped off the plane (well almost!). Not to mention that the people are so kind and wonderful.
