We recommend a minimum of 4-5 nights if you are including a stay on Zanzibar island after a safari circuit. However the ideal length of stay would be for a week to 10 days to really make the most of your stay. The island is mainly self sufficient, although some things are needed from the mainland and has a good spice industry as well as ‘seaweed farming’. This means that not only can you laze the days on gorgeous powdery white beaches and dip your toes in the warm Indian Ocean, but you can get out and about – the spice farm tour is interesting and you usually come back laden with various exotic smelling delights or spend a day on a Dhow visiting some of the smaller islands surrounding Zanzibar.
