Phang Nga Province in Thailand’s Southern half boasts many of the country’s most beautiful islands and beaches:
Khao Lak is located an hour’s drive north of Phuket on the Andaman Coast. In contrast to Phuket the area is peaceful with a backdrop of jungle covered mountains and kilometre long beaches.
Despite its reputation as party headquarter, Phuket has some gorgeous corners and fantastic beaches on offer. In fact, we found some of Thailand’s most innovative hotels and luxury resorts on this island.
Despite its proximity to Phuket, the modest Muslim community living on Koh Yao Noi have managed to stave off the pace of development resulting in just a handful of guesthouses and home stays on the island plus three notable hotels. With stunning views across Phang Nga Bay and access to deserted beaches, Koh Yao Noi truly is the idyllic island hideaway most people are looking for. The largely untouched island is covered with lush tropical jungle and limestone cliffs and is fringed by beaches and reef, and surrounded by numerous tiny islands with their own beaches.
Koh Racha is an idyllic paradise island with crystal clear and turquoise waters and pristine white beaches. It is only a 30 minutes boat ride away from Phuket’s Chalong Pier. The island has been known as excellent diving and snorkelling daytrip destinations for a long time, but there is excellent boutique accommodation to be found as well – the perfect island getaway.
We have created a whole section for the small island of Koh Phra Thong because this is where the amazing eco-resort Golden Buddha Resort is located. If you despair of the rampant developments found on better known Thai islands such as Phuket or Krabi, then Ko Phra Thong has to be the location for you. Away from the tourist crowds, this remote island remains barely inhabited and gloriously unspoiled.
