This itinerary is a wellbeing trip based around relaxing accommodation, fantastic healthy and organic food, and daily yoga sessions with in-house teachers. This itinerary uses their properties, transport and guides so you can enjoy the full experience with them. The trip is a perfect way to explore Kerala whilst enjoying yoga in the birth place of this ancient practise.

DAY 1 - FLY TO KERALA

Today you will take an international flight to Cochin. Your flight is most likely to leave in the afternoon/evening and arrive the following morning.

DAY 2 - TRANSFER TO COCONUT LAGOON

On arrival at Cochin airport you will be met by your driver who will transfer you to the beautiful property Coconut Lagoon on the backwaters. You will have the rest of the day at leisure before an evening yoga session.

DAY 3 - EXPLORING THE LOCAL AREA

Your day will start with a morning yoga session followed by breakfast. After this you will enjoy a visit of the nearby paddy fields for a spot of bird watching. An afternoon yoga session will take place before a sunset cruise to see life on the backwaters.

DAY 4 - INTRODUCTION TO AYURVEDA

Today will be very relaxing and is up to you to spend as you wish. A morning and afternoon yoga session will take place as well as an hour introduction to Ayurveda treatments by a doctor.

DAY 5 - YOGA, WALKING AND COOKING

Again you will start your day with a yoga session. A healthy breakfast will then set you up for a walk along the big canal taking in the beautiful sights along the way. Enjoy a cooking session with one of the fantastic chefs this afternoon and finish the day with another yoga class.

DAY 6 - TRAVEL TO PERIYAR

This is your final morning on the backwaters and last morning yoga session at Coconut Lagoon. From here you will travel to Spice Village, a perfect base for exploring the Periyar National Park. The journey here is beautiful and you will have the opportunity to stop and take in the varied landscape. After you have settled in you will enjoy a yoga session and then have dinner at the 50 mile diet restaurant. Here everything that is served comes from within a 50 mile radius of the property.

DAY 7 - JUNGLE TREKKING

Today your guide will take you on a jungle trek to give you the opportunity to see the diversity of elephants, birds, deer and monkeys. This is a community based initiative which has been designed to give an alternative employment to the Mannan tribal people who lived in the park before as bark collectors which is now illegal.

DAY 8 - SPICE PLANTATION VISIT

Spice gardens are the main economy of this area with Periyar being one of the oldest spice growing regions in the world. You will visit these and then have the chance to see how they are used with a cookery class from one of the master chef’s here at Spice Village.

DAY 9 - TO THE BEACH

Begin with a healthy breakfast and early morning yoga session followed by a drive to the golden sands of Marari Beach. Enjoy a sea view yoga session tonight.

DAY 10 - DAY AT LEISURE

Today is free for you to spend as you wish. We recommend watching the fisherman head out to sea in their traditional vessels as they do every day after sunrise. It is a beautiful, and very traditional Keralan experience.

DAY 11 - RELAXING ON THE GOLDEN SANDS

Amongst your yoga sessions today you might like to take one of the bikes around the local villages stopping at the many temples and churches you pass. A farewell seafood dinner will be provided at the property tonight.

DAY 12 - YOGA RETREAT

Enjoy your final two yoga sessions today and perhaps relax on the beach to ensure you are fully rested before heading home.

DAY 13 - FAREWELL KERALA

After a lovely healthy breakfast your driver will transport you to the airport for your flight home.

This itinerary costs from £1,700 per person B&B and is based on two people sharing during the high season (Oct-Mar) excluding the Christmas and New Year period. The price includes all private transfers and domestic travel but not international flights.

International flights tend to cost about £600pp for a return – do ask us for advice. Alternatively we can book the flights for you but a booking fee may apply.
