Marari Beach is a village-style resort that despite its size feels extremely tranquil. There are 62 thatched cottages set amongst 36 acres, located right on the sea where you will only separated from the blue waters by large palms. Windy paths separate the cottages making you feel like you have your own individual space, with lotus ponds and fruit trees taking up your view. With a strong emphasis on the environment no trees were cut down to create the resort, as well as rainwater being harvested and local materials being used.

The 62 cottages have been designed to look like the landscape around it, with traditional wooden shutters and raised verandahs to resemble a fisherman’s hut. Inside however they are extremely comfortable and modern, with crisp white linen and pastel decorations. There are 49 Garden Villa’s which have a seating area, bedroom, private veranda and a bathroom which is open to the sky. 10 Garden Pool Villas have an additional plunge pool, whilst the 3 Deluxe Pool Villas come with a larger pool within a garden, a separate living room and two bathrooms.

You are also spoilt for choice when it comes to your dining experience at Marari Beach Resort. There is a large restaurant which serves an international buffet at all three mealtimes including daily cooked bread, fresh seafood from local fishermen, as well as spices and vegetables from the resort’s organic farm. If you choose to eat here you can also enjoy Keralan live music every evening.

Alternatively there is the Beach Grill which is open between October and April for lunch and dinner. You need to book ahead to eat here. For light snacks or pre-dinner cocktails there is the Beach Shack and Palm Bar. Finally you may want to learn some of the amazing dishes that are cooked in Kerala with a daily cooking demonstration at 6.30pm, including recipes printed off for you to take home with you.

The property is popular with couples as well as families and you can see why with the vast array of activities on offer. If lounging by the pool all day with a book from the library or enjoying a spa treatment is not for you, enjoy a yoga class, book a music lesson, take part in badminton, tennis or volleyball, hire a bicycle or stroll along the coast to the fishing village. A favourite with all is also the movies that the resort put in in the day and evening.

With so much to do here you can see why it is so popular and is exceptionally perfect for those who want to be here for a good amount of time and enjoy all it has to offer.

Note: This hotel does not currently hold a license to sell alcohol. Guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol to consume in their rooms if they wish.
