Chile offers some of South America’s best lodges to unwind and live in pure understated luxury. These properties can be especially found in the Atacama Desert and Torres del Paine, two of the destinations featured in this itinerary. This type of accommodation generally offers packages that include deep explorations of the area’s highlights and full board so that you don’t have to worry about anything apart from discovering the country’s beauty and relax at the end of the day in the comfort of your hotel.

For this luxury Chile holiday we have chosen two of the best lodges – in our opinion – in the Atacama and Torres del Paine in Patagonia. Nayara Alto Atacama is our favourite luxury lodge in the north, where the setting and service are out of this world, and Explora Patagonia is the brand that put Torres del Paine on the international map decades ago and still offers the best explorations in the region.

So go on, treat yourself and indulge in a once in your life luxury holiday to this mesmerisingly beautiful country!

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Santiago

Santiago is a fast-growing city located in the central valley of Chile between the Andes mountains range to the east and the Cordillera of the Coast to the west. Santiago has been cataloged as surprising, cosmopolitan, energetic, sophisticated and worldly, a city of cultural currents, expansive museums and top-flight restaurants.

It is a wonderful place for strolling, and each neighbourhood has its unique flavour and tone.  A private transfer will pick you up to take you from Santiago’s Airport to your hotel in Lastarria. Accommodation at The Singular Santiago in a Lastarria room with breakfast for 3 nights.

Day 2 - Half day city tour (private)

Described by the international media as a surprising destination, Santiago stands out for being a cosmopolitan and modern city that perfectly combines its traditions with a modern outlook. The tour will take you to visit the heart of the city and its emblematic sites such as the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, Santiago’s Central Postal Office and its Municipality. You will also visit the Moneda Palace, which is the government’s headquarters as well as the traditional neighborhoods of the historic city center.

This private tour also includes a visit to Bellavista, the cultural and artistic neighbourhood of Santiago, and a tour up San Cristóbal Hill, the highest in town where you will have beautiful panoramic views of the city.

Day 3 - Full day private tour of Matetic vineyards and Valparaiso

This full-day excursion will take you to the San Antonio Valley and the charming port of city of Valparaiso.

As part of this excursion, you will enjoy a tasting at one of the many boutique wineries that are part of this flourishing wine route. The journey will then continue to Valparaíso, the oldest and most important port of Chile. Valparaíso’s picturesque layout is enhanced by the surrounding hills that seem to dive into the ocean, reminding us that this was once the most important maritime destination of the Pacific coast before the Strait of Panama was opened to navigation in 1914.

Nayara Alto Atacama luxury lodge

Explora in Torres del Paine was designed as the perfect haven for exploring the region’s wondrous geography and wildlife.

Besides the favoured location inside Torres del Paine National Park, this lodge’s architecture was planned in a way that interferes the least possible with its natural surroundings. It is an extension of the territory.

You will be able to choose from a menu of explorations, all included in your stay and led by some of the best guides in their field.
