Exploring Chile

Easter Island

Imagine a little speckle of land amidst the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, welcome to Rapa Nui! One of the remotest places on earth, Easter Island is one of those destination that you will probably visit only once in your life and that will leave indelible memories in your heart.

Belonging to Chile although much closer to the Polynesian culture, Rapa Nui is filled with mysteries and mysticism. Here you will witness the moai statues, erected by the legendary Rapa Nui people hundreds of years ago and will visit beautiful landscapes of volcanoes, grasslands and stunning beaches.

Hanga Roa is the main town and here you will find most accommodation choices in the form of charming posadas. But the island also has luxury offerings like Explora Rapa Nui, a 5* hotel outside of Hanga Roa boasting an idyllic setting, first class facilities and all inclusive programs.

There a few flights per week to Easter Island from Santiago so it is not as straightforward to reach as other Chilean destinations however, it will be totally worth and a true once in your life experience! Because of all this, we do recommend a minimum 4 nights stay and to book plenty of time in advance to secure the best flight price.

Finally, a traditional festival called Tapati takes place on the island every year in February. It manifests an intriguing aspect the Rapa Nui’s people culture: local teams compete in challenges to test their ability in time-honoured Easter Island skills! It is a great time to visit but bear in mind that prices might go up and the need to book well in advance is a must!

Santiago
The capital of Chile is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city worth spending a few nights in. My favourite places are Lastarria and Bellavista neighbourhood, where you can find plenty of bars, restaurants and boutique shops to keep you entertained, and still close enough to the city's highlights.
Atacama Desert
The Atacama Desert will surely not disappoint you if you are looking for out of this world landscapes! San Pedro de Atacama is the gateway town to this world wonder, and with plenty of desert lodges for all budgets, 3 nights or more in the region are a must!
