Getting around

Namibia has an excellent road network and very good paved roads. Some of the roads are however rough and bumpy and a minimum speed on tar roads of 120 km/h should not be exceeded. Also, there is a high volume of gravel roads in the country. These are usually well maintained, but every now and then one comes across “corrugated” tracks. Therefore, careful driving is mandatory, as the traction is reduced on gravel roads.

Another option to save time is to use air transfers. Have a look at our Fly & Drive itineraries to see what is possible. Please note that there are special luggage requirements for this, see ‘Luggage restrictions on air transfers’.
