This itinerary takes you from stage 11 to stage 14 through the green forests and blooming meadows, along crystal-clear rivers, and past historic towns and picturesque Alpine villages.
Never exceeding 4,350 feet, the trail is taken at a gentle pace, averaging 17km a day and certain parts can be made shorter with public transport or private transfers. To ensure you return home fully refreshed, your last two nights are spent relaxing beside Lake Bohinj (or Lake Bled if you prefer).
The trail is self-guided but private or group guides are available. If you prefer to do it at a more gentle pace we can add in extra days and accommodation.

Your private transfer will pick you up from the airport and take you to your first guest house in Most na Soči, approximately two hours drive.

Ease yourself into the week with a short walk on the first day. We begin at stage 11 between Most na Soči and Tolmin for a short and panoramic walk along the river. You’ll have plenty of time to add in the picturesque Tolmin Gorge walk if you wish.

The stage from Tolmin to Kobarid is quite flat and runs in the valley. The entire stage is hiked – as local people say – along the sunny side of the Soča River.
STAGE 12: Difficulty: moderate; Distance: 17 km; Duration: 4h Ascent: 126 metres; Descent: 79 metres

The stage runs through the gorge of Kobarid and Trnovo, along the Soča River, where the river is most picturesque and wild.
STAGE 13: Difficulty: moderate; Distance: 21 km; Duration: 6h; Ascent: 445 metres; Descent: 231 metres

This is a picturesque trail stage that runs past the remains of WWI to Log pod Mangartom, one of the most beautiful villages of the Juliana Hiking Trail.
STAGE 14: Difficulty: moderate; Distance: 12 km; Duration: 4h; Ascent: 340 metres; Descent: 151 metres

Transfer to Log pod Mangarom – to Most na Soc, where you will get the train to Bohinj and transfer to the idyllic Hotel Bohinj for two nights of relaxation beside Lake Bohinj before going home.

Alternatively, you can opt to stay for your last two nights at Lake Bled.
Make sure to visit the most famous sight in Slovenia, Lake Bled so you can compare its beauty with Lake Bohinj. Less than an hour from Bohinj it’s easily accessible by public transport.
Don’t forget your walking shoes, there are many walks and hikes with incredible viewpoints and you can easily stroll around the lake stopping off for some Bled cream cake.
