Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress early in the morning to catch a breathtaking sunrise together. Stop 2 – Kandy: Lakeside Charm and Cultural Riches
Next, make your way to Kandy, a city that beautifully blends natural beauty with cultural significance AND acts as a great launch spot to head to the hills for your next stop.
Visit the revered Temple of the Tooth, of course – take a leisurely stroll around the scenic Kandy Lake, and perhaps catch a traditional dance performance in the evening.
Stop 3 – Train Journey: Scenic Ride into the Hills
One of the most memorable experiences in Sri Lanka is the train ride from Kandy to Ella. As the train meanders through rolling tea plantations, misty mountains, and charming villages, you’ll have plenty of time to relax and take in the stunning views.
Stop 4 – Hiking and Safari time!
Get off the beaten track in the hill country with the more challenging hikes if you are up for it, or just soak up the vibe in Ella. For a touch of adventure, head to Yala National Park for a safari experience and a night or two glamping in the park. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, leopards, and a variety of bird species as you traverse the park’s diverse landscapes.
Stop 5 – Time to slow down: unwind on the South Coast
After your adventures, it’s time to relax on Sri Lanka’s beautiful beaches. The south coast boasts pristine stretches of sand and crystal-clear waters, perfect for unwinding. Whether it’s Bentota, Galle, or Mirissa, we’ll find a spot that suits your vibe.
