What our travellers say

All the excitement of adventure, without the anxiety

Fleewinter really made our trip memorable. It was so easy and they choose the right hotels and tours and cities to experience, the trip just opened our eyes to a completely different culture.

- Richard O.

Authentic adventures made easy

With never-ending palm-fringed sandy beaches, uninterrupted sunshine from November to mid-June, fabulous boutique hotels and eco-lodges, The Gambia is a wonderful winter sun holiday destination. Add to the mix a colourful culture, rich in traditions, fascinating wildlife including over 540 species of birds, and warm, welcoming people and you have the ingredients for a magical holiday. As a former British colony, English is the official language of The Gambia, so communication isn’t a problem. And it’s around a 6-hour flight from London and in the same time zone so there’s no need to worry about jet lag.

The tough decision is where to stay. Perhaps a floating river lodge deep in the heart of a sacred forest that’s home to hundreds of baboons and a myriad of birds? Or is a Moroccan-inspired luxury spa resort by the beach more your style? Would you prefer an intimate boutique hotel? Can’t decide? With our tailor-made holidays, you can have the best of both worlds by combining two or more from our collection of hotels.

This is a fascinating country. Unique natural habitats, rare flora and fauna, exceptional landscapes, uninterrupted sunshine, friendly locals, pristine beaches, and continent-transcending music: this is magnificent, unmissable, The Gambia.
