Spice up your life with Fleewinter’s new holidays to Madagascar…

Whilst nature-based tourism may be its primary draw, it is the same nature that will grab your olfactory senses and delight them with gastronomic delight.

The fragrance of fresh vanilla pods and artisanal vanilla extract are scents you will only find in Madagascar. Consequently, the second largest island, Nosy Be, isn’t known by its nickname of “Nosy Manitra” for nothing – it means the perfumed island!

Talking of spices, why not spice up your summer with a romantic getaway or honeymoon at a boutique lodge on a private tropical island? There’s no reason not to make plans for such an incredible trip!

…Pirates ahoy – arrgh!

And if like me, you like your rum (and Madagascar has some seriously good rum) and can roll your “r’s”, head over to Sainte Marie, a beautiful island in the northwest corner of Madagascar. Here famed pirates like Captain (William) Kidd, Edward England and Henry Every sought refuge from the law. And yes, there are many actual pirate graves to prove it!

Thankfully getting there now no longer means months at sea scrubbing the deck, both Nosy Be and Sainte Marie are easily accessible by boat or plane.

‘Mora Mora’

Madagascar is a year-round tourist destination, with five distinct climatic regions to explore. Each one has its unique topography, landscape and activities. The only thing to remember is that trying to visit all five in one trip may feel overwhelming. So, take your time and enjoy the journey!

The Malagasy have a saying “mora mora” which is apt as it means “slowly slowly”. You will hear this being said a lot, as the locals are proud of taking things “mora mora”. So come on over and mora mora like a local! We can certainly recommend many ways to relax.

New holidays to Madagascar: Luxury sailing

The most luxurious experience has to be perched on the deck of your chartered catamaran, with a rum drink in hand, as you watch her bows glide through tranquil azure waters, causing the dolphins to frolic and ride the wave.

We know tropical life can be exhausting and hard work, but hey, it beats sitting in a dreary London cubicle hands down every day!

A word from Robin…

I used to see Madagascar in the same vein as a family secret – often not spoken about.

For me, the attraction was always mainland Africa. I mean, how many of us can say we’ve drifted off to sleep, in a tent, with a prowling lion roaring just meters away (ok, so I am a bit of an overachiever!)?

Yet, Madagascar offers a different kind of magic. It’s not a land of flashy resorts or in-your-face attractions; it’s a hidden gem waiting to be unearthed.  I’ve built some new holidays to Madagascar so that you can experience what I  have, too.

With a little effort to explore beyond the surface, Madagascar reveals its true enchantment. The experiences, the captivating landscapes, and the unforgettable scents will leave you spellbound.

Madagascar’s soul resides in its people. The cities bustle with friendly faces, each radiating a vibrant energy and easygoing charm. Venture outside the urban centres, and you’ll be met with the vast canvas of nature. Explore the solace of intimate forests or feel dwarfed by the majesty of wide-open landscapes – Madagascar offers a refuge for every mood.

This island is a true gem, unlike any other. It’s a place that will inspire awe and leave you with memories to cherish forever. Don’t just take my word for it – embark on your own Malagasy adventure! Create lasting memories with your loved ones, and discover the magic of new holidays to Madagascar for yourselves.
