Tanah Lot is a rock formation just off Bali’s west coast that is home to the ancient Hindu pilgrimage temple Pura Tanah Lot, a popular cultural icon for photography with a steady stream of visitors.

The temple is particularly well known for its unique setting just off the shoreline and its beautiful sunset backdrops. The ancient Hindu shrine perched atop of the rocky outcrop is a real Bali icon not to be missed.

Afterwards, drive to your hotel in Ubud, check in and rest of the day is free at leisure.

Following a short drive after breakfast, you set off on your mountain bike, travelling downhill along minor village roads, experiencing typical Balinese daily life and enjoying the beautiful countryside.

You will ride through lush forested areas, plantations full of Balinese staples and cash crops, such as clove, coffee, cocoa, vanilla, tapioca, taro, and tropical fruits; passing through small villages and lush green rice paddies.

There’ll be numerous stops along the way, including avisit to a Balinese home, where you get to see first-hand how the Balinese live outside the tourist areas. Among other things, you stop off at a village temple with an enormous Banyan tree and go for a short walk in the rice paddies where you see villagers planting and harvesting rice.

A delicious Balinese lunch is served at a local restuarant to refuel after a morning’s exploring!
