Day 1 - Arrive in The Gambia

Arrive in the afternoon at Banjul Airport, where our local representative will meet you and show you to your shared transfer vehicle. Choose where to stay from the following hotels; each has something different to offer.

• The adult-only clifftop boutique hotel, Ngala Lodge (45-minute transfer)
• The luxurious Coco Ocean Resort & Spa (30-minute transfer)
• The intimate adult-only  Leo’s Beach Hotel (35-minute transfer)
• The family-oriented Ocean Bay Hotel (45-minute transfer)

And remember, if you can’t decide, you can always split your holiday between more than one hotel!

Day 2 to 14 - Relax or explore

Spend your days relaxing by the pool or in your hotel garden, intersperesed with days out and about exploring the markets, villages, beaches, rivers and forests of The Gambia.

You’ll find a full list of organised excursions here or hire a driver and guide if you prefer to explore independently.

See wildlife, including monkeys, crocodiles, and a magnificent variety of birds, or try your hand at cooking West African-style. Visit Tanji fishing village to see the colourful pirgoues being unloaded, watch a traditional wrestling match or visit a secluded beach. You could even spend a day visiting Senegal and the Fathala Wildlife Reserve.

In the evenings take romantic walks along the beach at sunset, before dining under an African night sky, either at your hotel or at one of the many excellent restaurants just a short walk or taxi ride away.

Seeking some ‘me time’? Both residents at Coco Ocean and guests from our other hotels may book a treatment or Spa Day at the luxurious Coco Ocean Spa with its Moroccan Hammam and thalassotherapy pool.

Day 15 - Bid farewell to The Gambia

After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll have time for a walk on the beach, a dip in the pool or some last minute shopping. Your mid-morning pick up will take you back to the airport to check-in for your flight home.
