A cosmopolitan, tropical wonderland. Nassau, the capital of The Bahamas, is actually located on the island of New Providence. Less than a half mile (804 m) north of Nassau is the resort enclave of Paradise Island. Together, these two — Nassau & Paradise Island — form the heartbeat of The Bahamas. New Providence is approximately 80 square miles (207 km2) and two bridges connect it to Paradise Island, which is only 685 acres (2.7 km2), so it’s quite easy to hop around from one idyllic spot to the next. Part British, part West African, the diverse historical and cultural influences give Nassau a spirit of its own. Pink government buildings, colourful homes and mini-mansions coupled with small hotels and mega resorts line our coastal shoreline and waterfront city creating a picture-perfect destination.

With miles of powdery white sand caressed by stunning “Bahama-blue” waters, beaches in Nassau & Paradise Island are truly a piece of paradise. And with sunshine 300 days a year, conditions are perfect to enjoy everything from swimming to snorkelling to kite surfing to snoozing under a swaying palm. Some of the most popular beaches in Nassau are Cable Beach, Love Beach, Saunders Beach, Junkanoo Beach, Cave Beach and Jaws Beach. Visitor favorites on Paradise Island include Paradise Beach, Cabbage Beach and Cove Beach.
