Your Itinerary

Arrival at Hosea Kutako (Windhoek International) Airport, where you will be met by your guide. Subsequent transfer to the capital of Namibia for check-in at the guesthouse.
After check-in at the accommodation establishment, you will be taken on a city tour.
Windhoek is a city of many contrasts. Modern skyscrapers blend with historic buildings dating from the turn of the century. Several buildings from the German colonial era have been preserved and restored to fulfil useful functions in the community today. Some of the sights you will see on your tour are the Parliament Building, also known as the “Ink Place”, the Lutheran Church and the Railway Station.

1 night at Naankuse @ Utopia

Day 2 - Ovamboland

Today you travel to Outapi, a town in northern Namibia near the border with Angola. It is situated approx. 90km northwest of Oshakati and most known for its famous Omukwa Ombalantu baobab tree, a baobab whose huge hollow trunk has been used in the past as a post office, a chapel and a coffee shop and now houses a craft shop.

1 night at Oshakati Guesthouse

Day 3 - Opuwo

Onwards we travel to Uukwaluudhi Safari Lodge, which is located in a 6,000 ha wildlife reserve within the Uukwaluudhi Conservancy. Afternoon spend at leisure.

Day 4 - The Oshana Region

Oshakati is a town of 37,000 inhabitants in the Oshana Region and today’s destination.
It is the regional capital and was used as a base of operations by the South African Defence Force during the South African Border War.
Spend the afternoon at leisure.

1 night at Oshakati Guesthouse

Day 5 - Ovamboland

Travel today to Ongula Village Homestead Lodge, built within the boundaries of an active homestead. Ongula is the first lodge in Namibia to introduce visitors to the authentic, traditional lifestyle of the Ovambo, the largest cultural group in the country.
Spend the afternoon at leisure.

2 nights at Ongula Village Homestead Lodge

Day 6 - Learn about the Owanbo people

Experience the traditional village today during a homestead tour:
Learn the set-up of a homestead, gather more information of the many endemic trees and their use by the Owambo people, and take part in the pounding of Mahangu (the staple food of the Owambo people) and much more.

Day 7 - Etosha East

The journey continues to the east side of the Etosha National Park. We spend the night inside the park. Spend the afternoon at leisure either at the lodge pool or the waterhole.

1 night at Onkoshi Camp

Day 8 - Waterberg Region

The final stretch of the tour takes you to the heart of a 17.000 farm in the bush savannah – Frans Indongo Lodge.
It exudes the sense for life of northern Namibia’s people in a most charming way. The complex is modelled on traditional Ovambo homesteads: palisades of tall pointed stakes embrace the lodge and convey a feeling of the warmth and security of home right in the middle of the African bush. Inside the complex a palisade separates the restaurant and swimming pool area from the guest chalets and thereby provides more privacy.
Spend the afternoon at leisure.

1 night at Frans Indongo Lodge

Day 9 - Say goodbye to Namibia

Return journey via Okahandja to Windhoek. Okahandja is an important centre for woodcarvers from the north. They practice their ancient skills at the Woodcarvers Market next to the main road. This is a good place to pick a last souvenir.
Arrival in Windhoek will be in the late afternoon.
Bid farewell to Namibia, we wish you a safe journey home.
