Central Asia now offers a wide range of comfortable accommodation, that must be booked injunction with a tour. We have hand-picked a selection of the best accommodation to match your preferences, ranging from 4 & 5 star hotels in the main cities, traditional and boutique style accommodation, especially in Uzbekistan. Yurts and local guesthouses in Kyrgyzstan, situated in the foothill of the mountains, surrounded by stunning scenery. Remote desert camps and in Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, located beyond the usual tourist trail.
With Fleewinter accommodation can only be booked as part of a tailor-made tour for a minimum of eight days. The accommodation options will be discussed during your trip consultation, so we can make sure the accommodation meets your preferences. In the more remote areas of Central Asia the choice of accommodation is limited, and we will use the best available. All of our Central Asia tours featured on our website include a variety of accommodation, along with a detailed description of the property.
Some of my favourite places to stay is Son Kul Yurt Camp in Kyrgyzstan. The yurt camp is open from June to September, and is one of my favourite places to stay, as the lake location is so remote and surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Staying here provides an authentic Kyrgyz experience and the opportunity to mix with the locals.
Over the last decade small boutique hotels have popped up throughout Uzbekistan. These are featured on the Uzbekistan destination page of our website. One of my favourite places to stay is the Lyabi House Hotel, in Bukhara. It feels like you have gone back in time, the architecture is stunning and it’s in a great location for café and people watching. This traditional hotel is a charming restoration of one of Bukhara’s old 19th Century houses, located right in the heart of the Old City. It’s an easy two-minute walk to Lyabi Khauz, its stunning buildings surrounding the peaceful central pool.
“Central Asia is one of the last frontiers to be explored. The remoteness of this landlocked region and the beauty of the Steppe landscape make it a unique place to visit. Out of all the Five Stans to visit, a good place to start is with a tour to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to see the historical sites and stunning mountain scenery.” – Nigel, Central Asia Specialist
