As with all our itineraries, this is just a sample and we will tailor the trip to your holiday length, time of year and preferences. If you have longer, consider adding a stop to take in historic Kandy and ride the scenic train, or to climb Sigiriya and Pidurangala rock in the cultural triangle. And if you’re open to a more rustic stay, take the overnight pilgrimage up Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak) for a truly unique experience.
Your driver will collect you from the airport and transfer you the short distance to Villa Hundira for a perfect Sri Lankan welcome. Enjoy some local cuisine, chat with the welcoming family and get a restful night’s sleep after your flight.
It’s time to head to luxury glamping and hiking spot Ahaspokuna, so remote it’s accessible only on foot.
Your driver will collect you after breakfast at Villa Hundira and drive around 4 hours to join their Bushwalk Programme.
After the welcome briefing by the Camp Manager and lunch, it’s time to join the naturalist on a 3-hour adventure bushwalk that will take you through the grassland and forest and a refreshing soak in a natural rock pool located at the bottom of a waterfall.
Spend the evening around the campfire for drinks, dinner and a perfect sunset. Later, visit the ‘hide’ near the waterhole to spot the nocturnal wildlife and sleep in your suite tent – or an incredible ‘stargazing bed’ if you’d prefer to be out in the open.
Get an early start with a pre-breakfast guided nature trail, then after breakfast take a 3-hour bushwalk that cuts through the grasslands and goes deep into the forest.
Have a relaxing afternoon after lunch and hang out in your hammock or bush bath – as this evening take a night trek along elephant-made paths.

Your driver will return to collect you and take you on to your second stop in the hill country in Ella.
Check in to your home for the next few nights, the Amba Homestay just outside of Ella. Expect a warm welcome on this working tea estate.
From your base here, spend the next few days exploring Ella.
Hike to Little Adam’s Peak and Ella Rock, join a private tea tasting and even visit the nearby zip line if you’d like to add some extra adrenalin to your stay in the tea country!
Head off after breakfast and stop to see the Nine Arch bridge on your way out of Ella
Arrive at Banyan Camp, an off grid eco retreat, in time for lunch and settle into your lodge and then join an afternoon (neighbourhood) safari. You will have a chance to see elephants, leopards, birdlife and more in nearby Udawalawe or Yala.
Return to camp for a restful evening.
Start your day with some kayaking or hiking near the camp, or join another game drive if you’d prefer.
Then it’s time to wave goodbye and head to the coast for 3 nights of luxury at a beachfront hotel.
Your driver departs for your beach days but you’ll be well placed to dine out locally in the evenings and spend your days exploring the calm bays and catching some sun – hop in a tuktuk to head further afield.
Checkout after breakfast and your driver will return to take you on a guided tour of the UNESCO heritage town of Galle. Walk the historic town and soak up the history as well as the beautiful architecture, choose a restaurant for lunch, and later carry on to the airport for an evening flight home.
