Tranquil and comfortable oasis Delightful hotel and team, with lovely comfortable rooms. Very relaxed and tranquil in a delightful environment. Great food. We had an excellent short stay. Nicely laid out to give a sense of privacy and space, with a nice pool. — Mark H.

Villa Hundira offers a lovely private escape as it's still a relatively well-kept secret in Negombo. Set on the lagoon and surrounded by lush jungle there is a peaceful yet friendly ambiance and with just a 30 minute drive to the airport it's an ideal way to start or end your holiday.

The rooms (standard, deluxe and suites) are inspired by 'tropical modernism' and are spacious and tastefully decorated with vibrant furnishings from the Villa's own 'Thimble' tapestry workshop. All rooms can accommodate an extra bed for a child and the spacious suites can accommodate larger families. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and feature a safe, mini fridge, satellite tv and wi-fi.

Take one of the canoes or traditional fishing boats out on the lagoon or simply kick back and relax by the pool or in the spa. Pay a visit to the villa's very own 'Thimble' workshop to see the women of Thalahena create these flamboyant tapestries, and when you're ready to venture out explore the Dutch buildings of Negombo, relax on the beach, visit the Muthurajawela marshes to observe the beautiful migratory birdlife, visit monkey island or pick your own fish from the market (or catch your own lagoon fish). The staff will be delighted to prepare your catch or choice of the day.

Watch the sun set over the sea and dine in at Villa Hundira or experience the Negombo streets coming to life after dark and have dinner at one of the (beachside) restaurants or bars.
