Banyan Camp is a remote, off the grid, eco-retreat located 45 mins away from Uda Walawe National Park. The lakefront setting is beautiful and allows its guests true access to nature; 'where humans are few and nature is plenty'. The outdoors merge with the indoors and the line between civilisation and the wilderness is blurred. The lodges are made of entirely natural, 'scavenged', upcycled or recycled materials hence the aptly named Wine, Champagne and Mercedes Lodge. All the ingredients are grown locally and are fresh as there are no refrigerators in sight! No meat is served at Banyan Camp.

The Banyan Lodge is the most basic lodge and features 2 rooms and 1 bathroom which can accommodate 6 people and hence is ideal for friends or larger families. The Wine & Champagne Lodges feature 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a terrace area set across 2 floors. The Mercedes Lodge is ideal for those looking for a little more enclosed space with slightly less rustic decor. It can accommodate 2 people and has an ensuite bathroom.

The surrounding area is beautiful and sparsely populated consisting of rugged jungle, plains, hills and lakes. The only neighbours are elephants, buffalo, birds and butterflies and many other creatures great and small. Small temples and historical sites provide a backdrop to the mountains, waterfalls, fields and rivers that make up the landscape.
