How to Fly to Myanmar (Burma) from London?
There are just two international airports in Myanmar (Burma) – Yangon (Rangoon) and Mandalay. And while you cannot fly to either of these direct from London, you can do it with just one stop.
We are a fully ATOL bonded tour operator and will be happy to arrange your international flights for you, but many of our customers choose to arrange their own directly, and that is completely fine with us. We do not include flight prices in our online itineraries and quotes because they fluctuate and vary so much.
In terms of booking the best flights from Myanmar to London there are two options:
- Thai Airways fly from London to Yangon or Mandalay with a short stop in Bangkok in just 15 hours. Their prices are normally very reasonable – from about £500 for a return. Many customers choose to book a return where they fly into Yangon and out of Mandalay or vice versa.
- Another way to do it is to book a return flight to Bangkok (with BA or Thai Airways) or even to Singapore or Hong Kong (Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific or BA) – these flights are often around the £500 mark. Then buy your connecting flights to Myanmar separately – a flight from Bangkok to Yangon can cost as little as £30. (Remember there are two airports in Bangkok which are connected by a 45 minute taxi – so check whether you are flying in and out of the same airport).
Please let us know if you would like any further advice about flying to Myanmar – we would only be too happy to help.
