The Samburu inhabitants still embrace the traditional way of life, making this an interesting place for some cultural education This is also a wildlife rich area, home to a large elephant population, making for some exciting game viewing! The reserve is also home to the five Northern species – the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx.
The next part of your Kenya Highlights trip takes you to the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. The Lewa Conservancy is 250km2 and covers diverse landscapes including the Ngare Ndare Forest, making it a wonderful place for viewing a diverse range of game, including the ‘big 5’! From here you will move on to the sacred region of the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara, deeply rooted in ancestral history, is known for its dense predator population and is also one of the regions through which the Great Migration passes from late July – early August until the end of October – November every year – making this a very exciting time to visit this area! In addition to the brilliant wildlife, the region is also home to a large variety of birdlife, and offers beautiful plains landscapes all year round.
The final leg of your Kenya Highlights holiday takes you to Manda Island part of the Lamu archipelagos.
