Ranging from remote national parks and spectacular hikes to mellow coastal towns and the hustle and bustle of Nairobi, you’ll want to experience everything you can on a trip to Kenya. No matter whether you take a taxi or hop in a matatu (minivan), this beautiful country is relatively easy to travel around if you know your options.

It is possible to travel slower and more sustainably on some trips. Sailing on a traditional dhow along the Kenyan coast or taking the train from Nairobi to Mombasa are good examples.

However, your Kenya safari holiday normally includes the transfers by road with a knowledgeable driver/guide, as this is the easiest way getting around. For the reason that the road network is not really good and even worse sign posted. Not for the fun of it, we call it the ‘massage roads’. As Kenya is a big and rural country, road travels can be long. This is another reason that we only sell guided tours in Kenya. It is so much more relaxing, sitting in a car having a driver instead of driving yourself.

For those who want to cover more ground, there are several internal flights with light airplanes to get you around the country. As you can travel within Kenya by plane to most of the famous sights and some itineraries do include this way of getting around as well.
