There are plenty of direct flights from the UK to the Greek Islands in the summer season (April/May through to October. Depending on where you plan to visit, the flight time is between just over 3 hours and 4 hours from the UK. In low season you may need to fly into Athens and then a short hop over to your chosen island, or to reach the lesser known Saronic islands of Hydra and Spetses, you can fly into Athens and hop on to a ferry.
