Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Buenos Aires

Today you will land in the Argentine capital and a private car with the addition of an English speaking guide will pick you up at the airport’s arrivals. Please look out for a sign with your name.

Accommodation at Casasur Palermo Hollywood in an executive room with daily breakfast for 2 nights. Palermo is a lively area of the capital with a very local feel. Here are some of the city’s best restaurants so you can mingle with the locals.

Day 2 - Free day

Enjoy a free day to rest from the long flight or to spend as you wish.

You can easily spend a full day exploring Palermo and its gorgeous park. Other areas worth seeing are San Telmo, La Boca and Recoleta.

You can also add a guided city tour if you want to learn more about this stunning capital.

Day 3 - Fly to El Calafate - the adventure begins!

Today you will be picked up at your hotel with a private vehicle with driver only and taken to the airport for your flight to El Calafate.

Once landed pick up your rental car – a 4×4 Toyota Hilux or similar with GPS included.

Drive to your hotel in El Calafate, Kosten Aike in a standard room for 1 night.

If we include a morning flight from Buenos Aires to El Calafate you should visit Perito Moreno glacier in the afternoon.

Day 4 - Torres del Paine here we come!

A Patagonia adventure is not complete without a visit to the most beautiful park in this region!

Today you will cross the border and drive to Torres del Paine for two nights. The drive is about 5 hours but absolutely worth it!

You will spend 2 nights at hotel Las Torres in a standard room with breakfast (all inclusive basis is also available at an extra cost)

Day 5 - Free to explore Torres del Paine

Spend today to explore the beauty of the park.

You can decide to mainly drive around to see as much as possible, or you can also choose to split your time with doing some of the hikes.

Day 6 - El Chalten

Drive from Torres del Paine National Park to El Chalten in the glacier region of Argentina, approx. 500 kms with border crossing and some gravel roads so set off early enough to enjoy the stunning drive.

3 nights at El Puma Lodge in standard room with breakfast.

Mount Fitzroy

Day 7 and 8 - El Chalten and Lago del Desierto

Free days to Explore el Chalten and surroundings. This is the most beautiful part of the glaciares region in Argentina. The town is charming and the trekking capital of the country. The Fitz Roy mountain range rivals the beauty of Torres del Paine in Chile.

If you fancy some off road and beautiful landscapes, you can go all the way to Lago del Desierto where the road is all gravel and it is about 90 minutes from El Chalten.

You can do plenty of hikes from the town itself or you can drive and then trek, one particularly beautiful is the hike up to Huemul glacier for a lesser known trek, otherwise the most famous are Laguna Torre and Laguna de los Tres.

trekking in Patagonia

Day 9 - Parque Patagona

Drive from El Chalten to Parque Patagonia. Approx. 80 kms of the road today are gravel. It is a long day, approx. 550 kms.

Patagonia Park was created fairly recently in 2018. This park is the core of the new Route of Parks of Patagonia, and the major conservation project between Chile and Argentina, protecting now 1.444.000 acres (585,000 hectares) in both countries.

This territory is much lesser known and therefore less busy with tourists and here you can enjoy eco/adventure activities, as well as natural interpretation of steppes, forests, unique rock formations and alpine terrain.

3 nights at La Posta de Los Toldos in a standard room with full board.

Day 10 and 11 - Adventures in Parque Patagonia

Two days of adventure filled activities and explorations.

One suggestion is to start from Posta de los Toldos and drive to Los Antiguos. Then take the Route 41 from Los Antiguos to Paso Roballo in the Andes and then continue to Bajo Caracoles.

This road is a scenic road and all gravel from los Antiguos to Bajo Caracoles. Approx. 200 kms gravel roads.

It is 400 kms in one day, but half of it is gravel so it takes very long but worth it if you fancy to go off the beaten track.

It is a route with very little traffic that goes very close to the Andes and it is very very beautiful and scenic and generally well kept during the summer Patagonia season.

Day 12 - Drive to El Calafate for your last night in Patagonia

Drive back from La Posta de los Toldos to El Calafate. This is a long day 600 kms and again you will have to do the 80 kms of gravel roads.

1 night at Kosten Aike in a standard room with breakfast.

If you didn’t have time to visit Perito Moreno glacier, we suggest adding an extra night in El Calafate for a total of two nights, so you have time for a relaxing evening tonight and then explore the glacier tomorrow.

Day 13 - Back in the capital

Today drive to the airport, drop off your rental vehicle and catch your flight back to Buenos Aires.

Once landed, you will be met by a private vehicle with driver only and will be driven to your hotel.

Accommodation at Deco Recoleta in a standard room with daily breakfast for 1 night.

Day 14 - Departure

Adios Argentina and South America!

A private vehicle with driver only will pick up at your hotel and take you to the airport for your flight back home.

Buenos Aires
In Buenos Aires, Argentina's cosmopolitan capital, you'll find graceful plazas, tango shows, melancholic melodies, historic buildings reflecting European grandeur, trendy bars, nightlife every night of the week, steak dinners, an emerging art scene and a Latin flair.
There is so much to do and see that you could spend weeks in "the Paris of South America" but to catch the highlights, we recommend at least 3 days in this exciting city.
Las Cataratas de Iguazú
The spectacular Iguazu Falls are located within the Iguazu Falls National Park on the Northern border of the Province of Misiones. This series of 275 waterfalls is at the heart of the Paranaense Rainforest, where the Argentine, Brazil and Paraguay borders meet, and where the cities of Puerto Iguazu (Argentina), Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil) and Ciudad del Este (Paraguay) face each other.
We recommend at least 2 nights in Puerto Iguazu so you can visit both sides of the falls. They are very different and both are jaw-dropping.
Parque Nacional Los Glaciares
Perito Moreno is one of the highlights of Argentina. This vast glacier is located in the Parque Nacional Las Glaciares, close to the town of El Calafate. Whether you watch its huge ice blocks collapsing into the lake from the viewing platform or take a hiking tour on the glacier itself finishing at the only bar in the world where the ice is older than the whiskey, the glacier's scale and shades of white and blue will leave you speechless.
We recommend at least 2-3 nights in El Calafate, the gateway to the National Park.
Mendoza
Mendoza is famous for its Malbec wine and vineyards in a spectacular setting, but there is so much more to enjoy. From white water rafting, fly fishing for trout, horseback riding in the Andes at sunrise, biking through the vineyards, to climbing Mt. Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America, there are plenty of ways to experience this region. We recommend at least 3 nights in Mendoza.
Salta "La Linda"
Set at the foothills of the Andes mountain range, Salta is at an elevation of 1,152m. The city's architecture is spectacular and you can see the influences from bordering Bolivia, Paraguay and Chile. While it's worth spending at least one or two nights in Salta, build in time for the surrounding area. Take a day tour to El Cafayate and marvel at the unique mountain formations and desert colours on the way, or an overnight tour to Cachi in the Calchaquí Valley, known for its adobe houses and white colonial buildings, surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
Peninsula de Valdes
The Peninsula de Valdes, a nature reserve in Northern Patagonia, is best known for whales, sea lions and elephant seals. Probably the largest draw are the Southern Right Whales (Ballena Austral) that come to take shelter in the natural bays of the peninsula between June and November. We recommend spending at least two to three nights in Puerto Madryn, the gateway to the peninsula.
Bariloche and the Lake District
San Carlos de Bariloche, simply known as Bariloche, is situated in the foothills of the Andes and is Argentina's most popular destination for skiing and hiking. Its ever-present views of the glacial lake Nahuel Huapi are spectacular, but the area is also a foodie hub, well known for its traditional asados (BBQs), choloatiers and micro breweries.
Ushuaia
Ushuaia is the capital of the Tierra del Fuego area in the southernmost tip of South America, often nicknamed the “End of the World.” Nestled between snow-capped Andean mountains and the shores of the Beagle Channel, it is an adventure hub where guests can visit national parks, kayak and hike, crab fish, visit penguins or explore old shipwrecks. In the winter, you'll find the world's southernmost ski resort, Cerro Castor.
