The only direct flight from the UK to Buenos Aires is operated by British Airways. The flight from London Heathrow, however, has started to operate a stopover in Rio de Janeiro from October 2023. The good news however, is that this flight will become a daily flight connecting the British capital to the two cities in South America – and even better, you can add a few days in Rio on the way home if you wish!
There are several airlines that offer regular scheduled flights from London to Buenos Aires, via other European cities, São Paulo, or the US. Flying via the US can be less expensive, but usually takes longer, and we tend not to advise this route as you will have to go through customs to enter the US.
Unfortunately, return flights prices between London and Buenos Aires have gone up in recent times so we cannot stress enough how important it is to plan your Argentina holiday as early as possible to access the best rates, especially if planning a holiday in the peak season. It is hard to estimate and average cost for the international flights but expect they will be £800.00 per person or more.
A holiday in Argentina will also include several domestic flights, as this is the fastest and also most cost effective way to reach all the regions in the country. Aerolineas Argentinas is the main carrier in Argentina, and you will need between 3 to 4 internal flights for a typical 2 weeks holiday taking in 3 destinations. The cost of these domestic flights can range between £400 to £500 per person.
We will always give the best advice and suggestions to help you organise a seamless and worry-free holiday to Argentina.
