All rooms are simply yet thoughtfully decorated with elements of Buddhist culture and Tibetan heritage as the owners wished to pay homage to their roots. Deluxe rooms offer ample space with garden views and can be set with a king or twin beds. A new building contains only Executive Deluxe rooms which are incredibly large and offer inter-connecting room options. An extra bed can be added to these. We love the natural light and upgraded elements of these newer rooms. There are two Junior Suites which are the only rooms with bathtubs.
Yoga classes are offered daily and a meditation room can be used by guests. Lungta Restaurant offers multi-cuisine fine dining while Lingka Garden Restaurant serves a varied menu with outdoor seating. Himalayan-grown coffee and a selection of teas are available at Coffee La Cimbali Café.
Shambaling Boutique Hotel is about 20-25 minutes drive from the airport. There are countless restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance and the famous Bouddhanath Stupa can be reached on foot in less than 10 minutes.
