Rorkes Drift Hotel is located below the Shiyane Mountain with views across the river in the heart of the Battlefields.
Accommodation in the 'Fort' offers 7 double/twin en suite rooms and there are four single en suite rooms in the main building - called the River Rooms. There is also offer a suite at The Deanery, just beside the battlefield for those wishing an even closer encounter with history.
The location is in the heart of the Battlefields of Rorkes Drift and Isandlwana which were the two main battles and nearby you can visit the rest of the sites. We will organise a guide to go with you for the day and bring alive the stories of the wars between the Zulu's and British soldiers.
The lodge offers a tranquil surround with lovely views across the river and there are a plenty easy walks you can enjoy in natural bush surrounds. The historic crossing which gives the area its name is within the lodge grounds and of course there is the battlefield, just 5 minutes away, where 11 Victoria Crosses were awarded.
Facilities are comfortable and modern with a spacious bar, lounge and dining areas with high thatched roof and picture windows. For those who need to stay in touch there is Wi-Fi.
